Trojans Drop Second Straight League Contest In Loss To Indiana Wesleyan

 

MARION, Ind. – Against cross-county rival Indiana Wesleyan on Saturday, the Trojans failed to score in their second straight contest, falling to the Wildcats by a score of 2-0.

 

The hosts opened the scoring in the fourth minute of the contest and took control from there, outshooting Taylor by a 17-10 margin. Additionally, only three of the Trojans’ shots were on target. IWU (4-0-1, 3-0-1 CL) added an insurance goal in the 56th minute that allowed them to put the game away.

 

Alanna Raikes led the Trojans with three shots coming off the bench, while Linli Tu finished with two shots. Tu, together with Erin Teevans, co-lead the Trojans in shots with 17 apiece.

 

Hannah Brackenbury made two saves in net against the Wildcats, increasing her season total to 21.

 

The Trojans (3-2-0, 2-2-0 CL) return to Turner Stadium on Wednesday, September 30, where they will square off against Saint Francis (1-2-1, 0-2-1 CL). Kickoff is set for 7:00 pm.
