LEWISTON, Idaho – [BRACKET | SCHEDULE | CHAMPIONSHIP APP] Offense was the story of the day, all coming from one game. Southeastern (Fla.) tied a World Series record for runs in a game in a game it combined with LSU Shreveport (La.) to plate 38 runs. Lewis-Clark State (Idaho) won big to advance out of its first elimination game of 2021 while Keiser (Fla) grabbed a win behind a complete game from its starter.

GAME NOTES/HIGHLIGHTS

No. 8 Keiser (Fla.) def. No. 4 Oklahoma Wesleyan 8-3

• Keiser had a fast start on Saturday with a three-run first inning.
• Ben McConnell and Erik Owen both singled and scored before Zach Mazur lined an RBI double down the left field line to complete the scoring in the opening frame.
• The Seahawks plated another two in the fourth on a bases-loaded walk and a fielder’s choice to make it 5-0.
• Down 6-0 heading into the bottom of the fifth, Oklahoma Wesleyan got on the scoreboard thanks to Sam Delgado’s 12^th home run of the year to make it 6-1.
• Both teams traded two-run blows in the sixth.
• Pablo Arevalo went the distance, the first pitcher to toss a complete game in the 2021 Avista NAIA World Series. The senior allowed three runs on eight hits to earn his 10^th win of the season.
• Arevalo is one of the top-ranked pitchers in the nation in ERA this season. Entering the game, he was ranked No. 2 overall in the NAIA in that category.
• As a team, Keiser hit .341 in the game.
• Saturday’s win was the second all-time for Keiser in World Series history.
• Keiser’s game time was adjusted to 11:30 a.m. PT due to the rule that a team may not play in three consecutive games that begin at 8:30 a.m. PT.

No. 3 Lewis-Clark State (Idaho) def. No. 10 Concordia (Neb.) 10-0

• Lewis-Clark State jumped-out on Concordia pitching early. Aidan Nagle singled-in the first run of the game in the top of the first to give the Warriors a 1-0 lead.
• The team from Lewiston kept the line moving in the second and added to its run total. With two runs already home, Nagle came through yet again with a bases-loaded triple to make it a 6-0 lead.
• In the third, the Warriors continued to tack-on runs. Jack Johnson singled-home the first of three runs in the inning, before Brock Ephan hit a two-RBI single through the hole at short to make it 9-0.
• Dalton Harum put an exclamation point on the win for the Warriors with his seventh home run of the season in the 9^th.
• Trent Sellers had an outstanding performance for the Warriors. The starting pitcher went eight innings and allowed no runs on five hits in an 117 pitch effort.
• The visitor has had the advantage throughout the World Series. Of the six games played thus far, only one team that was the home team on the scoreboard has won. Visitors are five-for-six overall.
• With the win, Lewis-Clark State is now 146-51 all-time in World Series play.

No. 1 Southeastern (Fla.) def. No. 9 LSU Shreveport (La.) 25-13

• Southeastern trailed by two after a half inning, but took the lead for good in the second inning.
• The Fire plated 10 runs in the fifth. The last time a team had 10 runs in an inning was in 2005 from former member Spalding (Ky.) with a 10-run first inning against Aquinas (Mich.)
• The World Series record for runs in a single inning is 12. Both St. Ambrose (Iowa) (1996) and former member San Diego State (Calif.) (1958) own that record.
• Southeastern tied the World Series record for runs in a game, set by Lewis-Clark State (Idaho) vs. Grand Canyon (Ariz.) in 1987.
• The World Series record for hits in a game is 25, set by Bellevue (Neb.) vs. Dallas Baptist (Texas) in 1999. The Fire came just short with 23.
• The Fire hit .511 in the game with five home runs and 11 extra base hits.

No. 2 Central Methodist (Mo.) def. No. 7 IU Southeast (Ind.) 11-5

• After three straight innings of zeros on the board, IU Southeast struck first in the fourth. John Ullom drove-in the first run of the game to give the Grenadiers a 1-0 lead.
• Ullom, the sophomore came around to score moments later on an error to give his team a 2-0 advantage.
• Central Methodist plated eight runs in the bottom of the fourth, the second highest run total in a single inning of the 2021 World Series.
• The Eagles hit back-to-back-to-back home runs in the fourth inning (Kenny Otero, Logan Haring and Sergio Macias).
• Macias hit his second home run of the game in the bottom of the seventh to extend the Eagles’ lead to 9-3. It was the senior’s fifth, two-home run game of the season.
• Haring and Macias have combined for 40 home runs on the season.
• Central Methodist earned its first win in NAIA World Series history, just over 24 hours after IU Southeast had already done the same.
