Chicago, Ill. The Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference recently announced their women’s tennis Player of the Week Honors. Holy Cross College’s Helga Lopez was named CCAC Women’s Tennis Player of the Week for the second consecutive week.

Lopez helped the Saints go 2-2 last week in a non-conference stretch. The freshman went 2-2 competing in the No.1 singles. After falling to Indiana Tech on April 12, Lopez got the 6-3, 6-1 victory over Spring Arbor University on April 16. The following day, the Saints competing in the Indiana Wesleyan University Tournament, where Lopez would get the 6-3, 6-2 win over Warner University. Helga Lopez and Jabeen Urbanek went a perfect 4-0 for the week in No.1 doubles.

 

For the year, Lopez is 8-6 competing in No.1 singles and 10-4 in the No.1 doubles.

 

The Saints return to action on Thursday, April 22 when they host Olivet Nazarene University in a CCAC matchup.
