ONU’s Underwood, SXU’s Hedman Capture BB Weekly Honors

CHICAGO — A clutch performance on the mound by Olivet Nazarene University’s Ethan Underwood (Woodstock, Ga.) and a .700 batting average from Saint Xavier University’s Tyler Hedman (Roselle, Ill.) have earned the pair Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Baseball Pitcher and Player of the Week recognition, respectively, for their efforts during the seven-day stretch ending April 25, it was announced by the league office on Tuesday.

In a weekend showdown with first-place Judson University, Underwood opened the series with 6 2/3 innings of one-run baseball to earn the first of three victories for the Tigers against the Eagles.  The sophomore struck out four batters, while allowing five hits and two walks in collecting his second CCAC Pitcher of the Week award.
