Noblesville Tops Guerin Catholic to Repeat as 3A Champion
Noblesville became the first Class 3A team to repeat as champion since the tournament expanded in 2017 with a 3-0 victory over Guerin Catholic in the girls title game.

With the win, the Millers, of coach Mike Brady completed their second-consecutive unbeaten campaign, finishing 17-0-1. Noblesville won its first 10 games this season before tying Hamilton Southeastern in the regular season finale. In 2019, the Millers turned in a 17-0-3 mark en route to the title.

Carlie Sack opened the scoring in the 24th minute, tallying her first and only goal of the season on an assist from Jacey Hoopingarner.

Early in the second half, Ava Bramblett gave the Millers a 2-0 lead before Jenna Chatterton closed the scoring in the 62nd minute with an unassisted goal. It was her team-leading 11th of the season.

Goalkeeper Sara Kile and the defense did the rest as Kile notched her ninth shutout of the season, making five saves. All told the Millers recorded 18 shutouts and allowed only five goals all year.

Coach Sean Yau’s Golden Eagles, who came in on a 15-game unbeaten streak (14-0-1), finished 16-2-2.

Noblesville’s Emma Potter receives Mental Attitude Award
Following the match, Noblesville’s Emma Potter was named the recipient of the IHSAA Class 3A Girls Soccer Mental Attitude Award presented by Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance.

The award is annually presented to a senior who is nominated by her principal and coach, and has demonstrated excellence in mental attitude, scholarship, leadership and athletic ability during her four years of high school.

She is the daughter of Jeff and Stephanie Potter of Noblesville. She plans on attending the University of Central Michigan to study Pre-Physician’s Assistant with a minor in Kinesiology.

Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance, a corporate partner of the IHSAA, presented a $1,000 scholarship to Noblesville High School’s general scholarship fund in the name of Emma Potter.
