No. 7 Indiana Wesleyan wins the battle of top-ten programs, becoming the lone undefeated team in Mideast League play, while No. 18 Saint Xavier, No. 22 Roosevelt, and St. Francis (Ill.) take care of business to remain atop the Midwest League standings in Week 7.

#7 INDIANA WESLEYAN 17, #5 MARIAN 10

Holding their opponents to under 300 yards of total offense, No. 7 Indiana Wesleyan took control of the Mideast League race on Saturday night, with a 17-10 road win over No. 5 Marian.
The Wildcats took the lead on their first drive of the day with a 32-yard Ethan Collins field goal, and would stay in front the rest of the way. Capitalizing on an interception by Devin Bacchus, Indiana Wesleyan extended their lead in the final minute of the first half, as Daniel Weems scored a three-yard rushing TD. The Knights would get on the board just before the halftime break, driving 44 yards in 30 seconds to set up a 36-yard field goal from Marlon Pomili.
After a scoreless third quarter, Weems would find the end zone again, with a three-yard TD catch from Xander Stokes. The Knights responded with a TD drive of their own on the following possession, but came up short on their final two drives looking for the game-tying score.
Stokes finished with 235 yards, completing 22 of 32 passes in the win. Markell Stephens-Peppers tallied 99 yards on just three receptions, while Jacquez Carter registered 10 receptions for 57 yards.
Bacchus led the Wildcats with nine tackles to go with his interception, including one tackle for loss. Logan Blake finished with 13 stops to lead the Marian defense, and made the team’s lone sack on the night.

#18 SAINT XAVIER 17, OLIVET NAZARENE 10

No. 18 Saint Xavier’s 17 first-half points would be just enough to hold off a charging Olivet Nazarene offense, as the Tigers posted all ten of their points in the fourth quarter in the Cougars’ 17-10 win on the road.
Stuart Ross would find Justin Pringle for a pair of TDs for the Cougars, as the visitors took a 14-0 lead at the start of the second quarter. Peyton Benes’ 25-yard field goal to end the first half would give Saint Xavier the 17-0 lead at the break.
After a goal-line stand by the SXU defense, Olivet Nazarene capitalized on a fumble recovery deep in SXU territory, resulting in their first points of the day with a seven-yard TD run for Evan Leake. The Tigers would then drive 80 yards in three and a half minutes, resulting in a 25-yard field goal from Kayde Mahuka. With just over 90 seconds left to play the Tigers would regain possession at their own 35-yard line, but a key sack by Terry Elias on 3rd and 10 would stall the potential game-tying drive.
Ross finished with 241 passing yards, going 23-for-33 through the air. Pringle made a game-high six receptions for 96 yards. Cameron Crouch led Olivet Nazarene with 142 passing yards, while Leake tallied 92 yards on the ground, on 18 carries.
Peyton Nigro and Ayobami Arokoyo each made a team-leading seven tackles for SXU, with Nigro earning two and a half tackles for loss. Sean Outlaw made seven tackles to lead the Tiger defense, along with a sack.

#22 ROOSEVELT 41, MISSOURI BAPTIST 3

With five takeaways, the Roosevelt defense looked dominant as the Lakers cruised to a 41-3 Homecoming victory over Missouri Baptist.
The Laker defense nabbed four interceptions in the win, with two apiece coming from Corties Draper and Jalen Perkins. On offense, Roosevelt jumped out to a 14-0 lead early in the second quarter, with a Tyler Tenner TD run, and a 58-yard TD pass from Luke Wilson to Jarrell Calhoun.
Tenner would find the end zone two more times in the second half, while Draper added a 32-yard pick-six in the fourth quarter. Tenner finished with 111 rushing yards and three TDs on 23 carries for the Lakers, while Calhoun tallied 122 yards through the air on five receptions.
Xavier Alvarez made a team-high eight tackles for the Laker defense, while Joe King and Cade Biedscheid finished with 11 tackles each for Missouri Baptist.

CONCORDIA 23, SIENA HEIGHTS 16 (OT)

Siena Heights would build a 16-0 lead by the middle of the third quarter, but two touchdowns and a pair of successful two-point conversions from Concordia would force overtime, where the Cardinals would earn a 23-16 victory.
Anthony Secchi converted three field goals, including a 46-yard attempt in the third quarter to give the Saints a 9-0 lead. Jamon Benson broke free for a 31-yard TD run giving Siena Heights the 16-point advantage.
On the following drive, just 44 seconds later Concordia got on the scoreboard, with a 48-yard TD pass from Cody Wallis to Donovan Jonson. Midway through the fourth quarter, the first of two TD passes from Jalen Smith to Seeger DeGayner would tie the game.
In overtime, Smith connected with DeGayner again on the second play from scrimmage for a 20-yard TD. The Saints would drive to the Concordia 12-yard line in response, but three straight incomplete passes would stall the SHU drive, as Colby Kohmescher broke up the pass on fourth down the clinch the win.
Both defenses were dominant, as both teams were held under 200 passing yards, and Siena Heights would out-gain their opponents in total offense by a 382-259 margin. Donovan Johnson led the Cardinal attack with 70 yards and a TD on three receptions. Benson rushed for 106 yards and a TD on 16 carries to lead Siena Heights.
Defensively, Colby Kohmescher and Chase Maynard each tallied 12 tackles for Concordia. Kole Murlin posted 14 tackles, one and a half sacks, a forced fumble and fumble recovery for the Saints.

ST. AMBROSE 58, JUDSON 22

An offensive shootout saw St. Ambrose quarterback Tom Casey tie a program record with seven touchdown passes, as the Bees took a 58-22 victory over the visiting Judson Eagles.
The Bees opened the game with 37 unanswered points, including five TD passes from Casey midway through the third quarter. Judson would respond with a 61-yard TD run form Brandon Mackey, but Casey would connect with his receivers in the end zone two more times to secure the win.
Casey finished with 250 yards, completing 16 of 23 passes in the win. Four different receivers made a TD catch, as the Bees were led by Yemi Ward’s five catches for 85 yards and three TDs. Kaden King also rushed for 93 yards on 27 carries on the day.
Mackey continued to lead the Judson attack, rushing 25 times for 191 yards and a pair of TDs. O’Vauntay Vickers made six catches for Judson, totaling 64 yards.
Zak Alberts led the St. Ambrose defense with 13 tackles, including a sack and one forced fumble, as the Bees recorded six sacks in all as a unit. Dominique Carter tallied 16 tackles for Judson, with one tackle for loss.

ST. FRANCIS (ILL.) 39, TRINITY INTERNATIONAL 7

St. Francis opened with 39 straight points, as the Saints generated nearly 500 yards of total offense in a 39-7 win over Trinity International.
Sam Tumilty threw for 260 yards, and rushed for 59 more, scoring three TDs for the Saints. The quarterback punched the ball in from one yard out for a pair of rushing scores, then connected with Dezzion Jordan for a 64-yard TD in the third quarter. Jordan finished with 100 receiving yards on five catches on the day.
Cameron Jones led the Trinity International offense, collecting 157 yards and a TD on five receptions. Liam Mickle went 13-for-21 through the air, for 183 yards and a TD.
Defensively, Michael Johnson and Pat Strocchia each made six tackles for the St. Francis defense, while Jeremy Walton led the Trojans with 12 tackles, and two and a half sacks.

SAINT FRANCIS (IND.) 53, MADONNA 0

Nearly 450 yards of total offense while holding hosts Madonna to under 200, Saint Francis (Ind.) submitted a dominant win on Saturday, picking up their second Mideast League win of the year over the Crusaders, 53-0.
The Cougars jumped out to a big early lead with three trips to the end zone in the first quarter, including a pair of special teams scores. A punt block from deep in Madonna territory was returned for the TD by Nick Nondorf, and later in the period Bailey Parker returned a missed field goal 96 yards to paydirt.
Heath Simmons threw for 201 yards, completing 17 of 21 passes for Saint Francis, with a pair of TDs. Cameron Peterson rushed for 107 yards and a TD on 15 carries, while Adjaye Dandridge caught six passes for a game-high 60 yards. Crosley MacEachen caught a pair of TD passes totaling 37 yards for the Cougars.
Arthur Brantley IV rushed 17 times for the Crusaders, collecting 86 yards on the day. Defensively, Carl Ware made a team-high nine tackles for Madonna, and Jesse Morris grabbed an interception and recorded a 62-yard return. Connor Price made a team-high seven tackles for Saint Francis, with two sacks and a forced fumble.
