In a competitive week that saw five Mideast League teams earn victories, Indiana Wesleyan’s Devodney Alford, Concordia’s Gabe Whitmore, and Marian’s Marlon Pomili stood out as the MSFA Mideast League Players of the Week.

Offensive Player of the Week
Devodney Alford, Indiana Wesleyan
Sr., RB, Orlando, Fla. (Phillips HS)

  • Rushed for 143 yards and three TDs on 24 carries, in the Wildcats’ 52-28 win over No. 6 Olivet Nazarene
  • Threw a 3-yard TD pass in the second quarter to give IWU a 28-point lead
  • Earns his first career MSFA Offensive Player of the Week award

Defensive Player of the Week
Gabe Whitmore, Concordia
So., DB, Petoskey, Mich. (Petoskey HS)

  • Grabbed two interceptions as No. 5 Concordia defeated No. 16 Roosevelt, 16-14
  • Made six tackles in the win
  • Earns his first career MSFA Defensive Player of the Week award

Special Teams Player of the Week
Marlon Pomili, Marian
Fr., K, Village of Lakewood, Ill. (Marian Catholic HS)

  • Scored 16 points, on four field goals and four extra points in No. 9 Marian’s 40-17 win over St. Francis (Ill.)
  • Connected on a long field goal of 40 yards in the second quarter
  • Earns his first career MSFA Special Teams Player of the Week award
