GOSHEN, Ind. — The Goshen College athletic department and head softball coach Juliaclare Plezbert announced the addition of pitcher and infielder Katelynn Larkin to its 2020 recruiting class on Monday.
Larkin joins the Maple Leafs from Carrollton, Texas, a suburb of Dallas and home of Motel 6’s corporate headquarters. She played for Creekview High School, where she hurled three perfect games in 2019 leading the Lady Mustangs to an undefeated District 11-5A season. She also pitched for Glory Adkins 18U Gold on the club circuit.
“Larkin is a dominant pitcher,” said Creekview coach Amber Cottingham to the Carrollton Leader last spring. “She has great command on the mound, and she’s a force at the plate as well.”
Larkin plans to study business and marketing at GC. She is the daughter of Scott and Christie Larkin. Her fun facts include that “I have visited the zoo in every city that we have traveled to for select softball and I always put a penny in one of the machines that stamps the zoo animals on it” and “I like to cook and bake.”
Meet the Maple Leafs will continue throughout the summer.
