Bremen (2-3, 1-1 NIC) at Glenn (3-2, 1-1 NIC): The Lions clawed their way to a 21-7 win over Glenn last season. Reece Greene came up with an interception for Bremen in its 35-17 loss to Jimtown. Aden Johnson went 19-of-47 for 237 yards with three touchdowns in the Falcons’ 42-21 loss to Knox. Matt’s pick: Glenn 24, Bremen 21.

Elkhart (4-1, 0-1 NIC) at Saint Joseph (2-3, 1-1 NIC): The Indians suffered a 37-6 loss to Elkhart a season ago. Gavin Houser scampered seven yards for a score in the Lions’ 21-20 loss to Penn. Marvin Lopez tossed an 11-yard touchdown pass in Saint Joseph’s 35-7 loss to New Prairie. Matt’s pick: Elkhart 33, Saint Joseph 16.

Marian (2-3, 1-1 NIC) at Penn (3-2, 1-0 NIC): The Kingsmen blanked Marian, 35-0, a year ago. Bryce LaSane accounted for a one-yard scoring run in the Knights’ 7-6 win over Adams. Vince Horner returned a fumble 20 yards for a touchdown for Penn against Elkhart. Matt’s pick: Penn 34, Marian 13.

Adams (1-4, 0-2 NIC) at New Prairie (5-0, 2-0 NIC): The No. 6 (Class 4A) Cougars escaped with a 9-0 win against Adams last year. Phoenyx Clark threw for 258 yards for the Eagles against Marian. Marshall Kmiecik ran for a pair of touchdowns and threw a pass for another for New Prairie against Saint Joseph. Matt’s pick: New Prairie 29, Adams 12.

Clay (0-5, 0-2 NIC) at Jimtown (3-2, 2-0 NIC): The Jimmies cruised to a 69-8 win over Clay in their previous meeting, Marcus Rankin registered 86 of the Colonials’ 104 total yards in a 52-0 loss to Washington. Sam Garner came up with 18 carries for 166 yards for Jimtown against Bremen. Matt’s pick: Jimtown 51, Clay 6.

Riley (3-2, 1-1 NIC) at Washington (1-4, 1-1 NIC) (TCU School Field): The Wildcats earned a 24-20 win over Washington during the 2020 campaign. Caleb Francis hauled in five passes for 130 yards with three scores in Riley’s 51-6 win over Indianapolis Washington. JaQuan Patton found the end zone twice for the Panthers against Clay. Matt’s pick: Riley 38, Washington 13.

NORTHERN LAKES CONFERENCE

Goshen (1-4, 1-2 NLC) at Concord (2-3, 1-2 NLC): The Minutemen were a 21-12 winner over Goshen a season ago. Drew Elliot was held to 20 yards rushing on nine carries in the RedHawks’ 32-10 loss to Northridge. Hudson Glantz passed for 68 yards and ran for 71 yards and a score in Concord’s 16-0 win over Wawasee. Matt’s pick: Concord 23, Goshen 7.

Mishawaka (5-0, 3-0 NLC) at Warsaw (4-1, 2-1 NLC): The Tigers came away with a 17-15 win at No. 2 (Class 5A) Mishawaka last year. Ethan Bryce tallied six rushes for 48 yards with two scores in the Cavemen’s 36-7 win over Plymouth. Bryson Brown had 28 yards on the ground with a touchdown in Warsaw’s 42-21 loss at NorthWood. Matt’s pick: Mishawaka 32, Warsaw 30.

NorthWood (5-0, 3-0 NLC) at Plymouth (0-5, 0-3 NLC): The Rockies dropped a 42-14 decision to No. 4 (Class 4A) NorthWood a year ago. Keith Miller recorded 9.5 tackles for the Panthers against Warsaw. Kaiden Milliser had six receptions for 61 yards for Plymouth against Mishawaka. Matt’s pick: NorthWood 41, Plymouth 10.

Wawasee (1-4, 1-2 NLC) at Northridge (2-3, 1-2 NLC): The Raiders posted a 42-0 win over Wawasee last season. Brandon Kelly managed seven carries for 23 yards for the Warriors against Concord. Qade Carrington was 18-of-29 for 301 yards with four touchdowns for Northridge against Goshen. Matt’s pick: Northridge 36, Wawasee 11.

DUNELAND CONFERENCE

Crown Point (5-0, 3-0 DAC) at Valparaiso (4-1, 3-0 DAC): The No. 5 (Class 5A) Vikings smashed No. 9 (Class 6A) Crown Point, 56-14, last year. Josh Eberly raced for 48 yards in the Bulldogs’ 42-7 win over Portage. Jacob Clardy’s 10-yard touchdown run lifted Valparaiso to a 19-13 win over Chesterton. Matt’s pick: Valparaiso 27, Crown Point 20.

Lake Central (3-2, 2-1 DAC) at Michigan City (1-4, 1-2 DAC): The Wolves rolled to a 49-13 win over Lake Central last season. Xavier Williams tallied 206 yards rushing and two touchdowns in the Indians’ 21-7 win over LaPorte. Jaden Hart amassed 32 carries for 124 yards with a score in Michigan City’s 38-24 loss to Merrillville. Matt’s pick: Michigan City 43, Lake Central 19.

Merrillville (4-1, 2-1 DAC) at LaPorte (1-4, 1-2 DAC): The No. 3 (Class 5A) Pirates recorded a 54-19 win over LaPorte a season ago. Dylan Salisbury managed two receptions for 32 yards and a score for the Slicers against Lake Central. Justin Marshall compiled 208 yards rushing and three touchdowns for Merrillville against Michigan City. Matt’s pick: Merrillville 44, LaPorte 15.

Portage (1-4, 0-3 DAC) at Chesterton (1-4. 0-3 DAC): The Indians are looking to make amends for a pair of losses to Chesterton a year ago by scores of 27-0 and 16-0. Kodie Young tossed for 101 yards and a score for Portage against Crown Point. Sebastian Boswell completed 16-of-35 for 181 yards with two scores for the Trojans against Valparaiso. Matt’s pick: Chesterton 29, Portage 9.
