Angola (4-2) at Marian (2-4): The Knights blanked Angola, 42-0, a year ago. Joshua Kunkle raced 13 times for 51 yards with a touchdown in the Hornets’ 39-6 win over Fairfield. Jack Diroll had two catches for 16 yards in Marian’s 42-3 loss at Penn. Matt’s pick: Angola 27, Marian 13.

Bremen (3-3) at Prairie Heights (1-5): The Lions roared past Prairie Heights, 37-14, last season. Lance Moser rambled 27 times for 147 yards with two scores in Bremen’s 14-7 win at Glenn. Mark Armstrong was 8-of-21 for 170 yards with two touchdowns in the Panthers’ 54-12 loss to Eastside. Matt’s pick: Bremen 43, Prairie Heights 12.

Calumet (6-0) at Clay (0-6): The Warriors cruised to a 69-0 win over Clay a season ago. Anthony Ponce scampered 35 times for 177 yards in Calumet’s 19-18 win over Griffith. Shaquielle Edwards hauled in a 60-yard touchdown pass in the Colonials’ 69-6 loss at Jimtown. Matt’s pick: Calumet 54, Clay 7.

Jimtown (4-2, 3-0 NIC) at Washington (1-5, 1-2 NIC) (TCU School Field): The Panthers dropped a 62-16 decision to Jimtown last year. Brayden Fox converted nine extra-points for the Jimmies against Clay. Devin Devries threw for a touchdown and ran for two more scores in Washington’s 34-26 loss to Riley. Matt’s pick: Jimtown 52, Washington 6.

Glenn (3-3) at LaVille (6-0): The No.3 (Class 2A) Lancers escaped with a 14-7 win over Glenn in their previous meeting. Nathan Taylor hauled in three passes for 38 yards with a score for the Falcons against Bremen. Paul DeWitt came up with 24 carries for 156 yards with a touchdown in LaVille’s 21-20 win over Knox. Matt’s pick: LaVille 31, Glenn 14.

New Prairie (6-0) at Riley (4-2): The No. 5 (Class 4A) Cougars clawed their way to a 38-0 win over Riley during the 2021 campaign. Tayvion Ortman registered 12 tackles in New Prairie’s 49-2 win over Adams. Austin White went 14-of-29 for 239 yards with three touchdowns for the Wildcats against Washington. Matt’s pick: New Prairie 40, Riley 20.

Penn (4-2, 2-0 NIC) at Saint Joseph (2-4, 1-2 NIC): The Kingsmen crowned Saint Joseph, 34-3, last season. Josiah Williams rolled up 126 yards on the ground with two scores for Penn against Marian. Alex Ortiz ran 11 yards for a touchdown in the Indians’ 43-7 loss to Elkhart. Matt’s pick: Penn 4, Saint Joseph 10.

Adams (1-5, 1-2 NIC) at Elkhart (5-1, 1-1 NIC): The Lions earned a 35-13 win over Adams a season ago. Phoenyx Clark was 14-of-24 for 117 yards for the Eagles against New Prairie.  Gavin Houser tallied 17 carries for 143 yards with four scores for Elkhart against Saint Joseph. Matt’s pick: Elkhart 45, Adams 15.

NORTHEN LAKES CONFERENCE

Concord (3-3, 2-2 NLC) at Northridge (3-3 NLC): The Minutemen rolled to a 40-7 win against Northridge last year. Miguel Aguilar booted a 38-yard field goal in Concord’s 37-7 win over Goshen. Jethro Hochstetler registered four receptions for 109 yards with a score in the Raiders’ 42-17 win over Wawasee. Matt’s pick: Northridge 30, Concord 28.

NorthWood (6-0, 4-0 NLC) at Mishawaka (6-0, 4-0 NLC): The No. 1 (Class 5A) Cavemen clubbed No. 3 (Class 4A) NorthWood, 40-20, a year ago. Wes Yoder carried the ball seven times for 96 yards with a touchdown in the Panthers’ 48-0 win at Plymouth. In addition to going 1-of-2 for 19 yards, Brady Fisher ran 19 times for 92 yards with three scores in Mishawaka’s 43-19 win over Warsaw. Matt’s pick: Mishawaka 33, NorthWood 27.

Plymouth (0-6, 0-4 NLC) at Goshen (1-5, 1-3 NLC): The RedHawks managed a 28-14 win over Plymouth a season ago. Aiden Blalock mustered four catches for 41 yards for the Rockies against NorthWood. Laish Detwiller scored an a four-yard run for Goshen against Concord. Matt’s pick: Goshen 16, Plymouth 9.

Warsaw (4-2, 2-2 NLC) at Wawasee (1-5, 1-3 NLC): The Tigers won the “W” trophy last year with a 49-7 decision over Wawasee. Bryson Brown finished with six rushes for 39 yards with a score for Warsaw against Mishawaka. Hunter Tinkey returned an interception 40 yards for a touchdown for the Warriors against Northridge. Matt’s pick: Warsaw 41, Wawasee 8.

DUNELAND CONFERENCE

Chesterton (2-4, 1-3 DAC) at Lake Central (4-2, 3-1 DAC): The Trojans marched past Lake Central, 21-0, a season ago. Keegan Wrigley came up with two interceptions and returned one four yards for a score in Chesterton’s 41-7 win over Portage. Amarion Brooks managed 10 rushes for 99 yards with a touchdown in the Indians’ 35-31 win over Michigan City. Matt’s pick: Lake Central 22, Chesterton 19.

Crown Point (6-0, 4-0 DAC) at LaPorte (1-5, 1-3 DAC): The Slicers are looking to make amends for a 40-0 loss to No. 8 (Class 6A) Crown Point last year. Landen Delich tallied four catches for 138 yards with a touchdown in the Bulldogs’ 34-13 win over Valparaiso. Brennan Balka finished with 16 tackles for LaPorte in its 41-3 loss to Merrillville. Matt’s pick: Crown Point 48, LaPorte 10.

Michigan City (2-4, 1-3 DAC) at Portage (1-5, 0-4 DAC): The Wolves claimed a 43-29 win over Portage last season. Jaden Hart recorded 36 carries for 177 yards with two touchdowns for Michigan City against Lake Central. Keenan Miller rambled 15 times for 64 yards for the Indians against Chesterton. Matt’s pick: Michigan City 37, Portage 11.

Valparaiso (4-2, 3-1 DAC) at Merrillville (5-1, 3-1 DAC): The No. 2 (Class 5A) Pirates were a 42-7 winner over No. 9 (Class 5A) Valparaiso a year ago. Ian Wilson managed a one-yard touchdown run for the Vikings against Crown Point. Javeoin Gills ended with three catches for 29 yards with a score for Merrillville against LaPorte. Matt’s pick: Merrillville 35, Valparaiso 29.
