NORTHERN INDIANA CONFERENCE

Glenn (3-2, 1-1 NIC) at Bremen (2-3, 1-1 NIC): The Falcons suffered a 28-8 loss to Bremen a season ago. Nathan Creed scampered for 170 yards and three scores in Glenn’s 28-7 win over Knox. Austin McKenzie raced for 68 yards and a touchdown in the Lions’ 32-19 loss to Jimtown. Matt’s pick: Bremen 21, Glenn 13.

Jimtown (3-2, 2-0 NIC) at Clay (0-5, 0-2 NIC): The Jimmies cruised to a 49-6 win over Clay in their previous meeting. Tysen House threw for 67 yards and a score for Jimtown against Bremen. Dontay Johnson had 28 yards on the ground in the Colonials’ 35-0 loss to Washington. Matt’s pick: Jimtown 49, Clay 7.

New Prairie (4-1, 1-1 NIC) at Adams (3-2, 1-1 NIC) (TCU School Field): The Cougars claimed a 30-26 win over Adams a year ago. Brock Sinka ran six times for 55 yards in New Prairie’s 35-0 win over Saint Joseph. Toryn Day tossed for 65 yards in the Eagles’ 35-3 loss to Marian. Matt’s pick: New Prairie 31, Adams 17.

Penn (1-4. 1-0 NIC) at Marian (3-2, 2-0 NIC): The Knights rallied for a 20-16 win at Penn last season. Zach Lane tallied 14 carries for 37 yards in the Kingsmen’s 31-3 win over Elkhart. Blake Oberg registered 10 tackles for Marian against Adams. Matt’s pick: Marian 23, Penn 20.

Saint Joseph (2-3. 0-2 NIC) at Elkhart (2-3, 0-1 NIC): The Lions clawed post Saint Joseph, 49-6, during the 2020 campaign. John O’Shaughnessy came up with a fumble recovery for the Indians against New Prairie. Robbie Stilley recorded three catches for 27 yards for Elkhart against Penn. Matt’s pick: Elkhart 26, Saint Joseph 12.

Washington (2-1, 1-1 NIC) at Riley (1-3, 1-1 NIC) (Jackson Field): The Wildcats held on for 24-21 win against Washington last year. Ty’shaun Grundy rambled five times for 133 yards and three scores for the Panthers against Clay. Elijah Taylor came up with three touchdown passes in Riley’s 42-6 win over Clay. Matt’s pick: Washington 33, Riley 23.

NORTHERN LAKES CONFERENCE

Mishawaka (4-1, 2-1 NIC) at Concord (4-1, 3-0 NLC): The No. 5 (Class 5A) Cavemen earned a 36-19 win against Concord a year ago. Jack Troyer had a rushing touchdown in Mishawaka’s 42-0 win over Plymouth. Titus Hackworth registered 15 carries for 45 yards and a score for the Minutemen in their 21-12 win over Goshen. Matt’s pick: Mishawaka 28, Concord 27.

NorthWood (3-2, 2-1 NLC) at Northridge (4-1, 2-1 NLC): The Raiders escaped with a 7-0 win over NorthWood last season. Dominic DeFrietas converted a 54-yards field goal in the Panthers’ 44-14 win over Wawasee. Conner Roth went 11-of-21 for 132 yards in Northridge’s 36-3 loss at Warsaw. Matt’s pick: NorthWood 17, Northridge 13.

Plymouth (0-5, 0-3 NLC) at Wawasee (0-5, 0-3 NLC): The Rockies rolled to a 37-12 win against Wawasee a year ago. Devon Bowering hauled in a 35-yard pass for Plymouth against Mishawaka. Aidan Monds caught two passes for 20 yards for the Warriors against NorthWood. Matt’s pick: Plymouth 22, Wawasee 19.

Warsaw (4-1, 3-0 NLC) at Goshen (2-3, 0-3 NLC): The RedHawks are looking to avenge a 41-28 loss to Warsaw last year. German Flores-Ortega ran 22 times for 153 yards and two scores for the Tigers against Northridge. Brayden Hinkle had eight catches for 121 yards and two score for Goshen against Concord. Matt’s pick: Warsaw 37, Goshen 14.

DUNELAND CONFERENCE

Chesterton (4-1, 2-1 DAC) at Portage (1-4, 0-3 DAC): The Trojans blanked Portage, 20-0, last year. Ethan Troy recorded six receptions for 109 yards in Chesterton’s 10-7 loss to Valparaiso. Colton Wilkie came up with five catches for 72 yards in the Indians’ 27-6 loss to Crown Point. Matt’s pick: Chesterton 32, Portage 15.

LaPorte (2-3, 1-2 DAC) at Merrillville (5-0, 3-0 DAC): The No. 3 (Class 6A) Pirates recorded a 48-6 win against LaPorte a year ago. Antonio Christensen was 6-of-12 for 100 yards and a score in the Slicers’ 27-20 overtime win against Lake Central. Lavarion Logan scampered 29 times for 142 yards and three touchdowns in Merrillville’s 40-14 win over Michigan City. Matt’s pick: Merrillville 42, LaPorte 10.

Michigan City (2-3, 0-3 DAC) at Lake Central (3-2, 1-2 DAC): The Wolves roared past Lake Central, 48-6, last season. Trey Simmons hauled in two passes for 87 yards and a score for Michigan City against Merrillville. Luke Neidy ran and threw for touchdowns for the Indiana against LaPorte. Matt’s pick: Michigan City 38, Lake Central 16.

Valparaiso (5-0, 3-0 DAC) at Crown Point (3-2, 2-1 DAC): The No. 2 (Class 5A) Vikings were a 31-14 winner against Crown Point during the 2019 season. Nathan Craft racked up seven tackles for Valparaiso against Chesterton. Sammy Brewer booted a pair of field goals and three extra-points for the Bulldogs against Portage, Matt’s pick: Valparaiso 29, Crown Point 9.
