NORTHERN INDIANA CONFERENCE

Clay (0-6) at Calumet (5-1): Trayvon Fleming ran for 35 yards in the Colonials’ 69-8 loss to Jimtown. Quentin Falls threw for 117 yards and two scores in the Warriors’ 14-10 win over Griffith. Matt’s pick: Calumet 44, Clay 6

Elkhart (3-3, 1-1 NIC) at Adams (3-3, 1-2 NIC): (Saturday at TCU School Field): The Lions blanked Adams, 51-0, a year ago. Rodney Gates hauled in a 60-yard touchdown pass in Elkhart’s 37-6 win over Saint Joseph. Daveon Patterson had eight carries for 29 yards in the Eagles’ 9-0 loss to New Prairie. Matt’s pick: Elkhart 34, Adams 13.

Indianapolis Tech (4-2) at New Prairie (5-1): De-Fayebeon Pittman passed for 305 yards with two touchdowns and ran for two more scores in the Titans’ 34-28 win over McCutcheon. Tayvion Ortman led way with 12 tackles for the Cougars against Adams. Matt’s pick: New Prairie 23, Indianapolis Tech 20.

LaVille (4=1) at Glenn (3-3): The Lancers edged Glenn, 17-14 last year. Lucas Plummer’s extra-point was the difference in LaVille’s 7-6 win over Knox. Chase Howe caught a 26-yard pass for a score in the Falcons’ 21-7 loss to Bremen. Matt’s pick: LaVille 28, Glenn 12.

Marian (3-3) at Angola (2-4): Cade Keaton came up with two receptions for 12 yards in the Knights’ 35-0 loss to Penn Micah Steury went 10-of-17 for 139 yards and two touchdowns in the Hornets’ 26-14 loss to Fairfield. Matt’s pick: Marian 32, Angola 20.

Prairie Heights (2-4) at Bremen (3-3): The Lions clawed past Prairie Heights, 39-14, a season ago. Jaden Daniels scampered six times for 43 yards in the Panthers’ 42-6 loss to No. 5 (Class 2A) Eastside. Ashton Shively caught a touchdown pass and ran for a score for Bremen against Glenn. Matt’s pick: Bremen 41, Prairie Heights 7.

Saint Joseph (2-4, 0-3 NIC) at Penn (2-4, 2-0 NIC): The Kingsmen claimed a 49-20 win at Saint Joseph a year ago. Marvin Lopez tossed a 42-yard touchdown pass for the Indians against Elkhart. Ryne Buckley passed for 98 yards and his first touchdown of the season for Penn against Marian. Matt’s pick: Penn 42, Saint Joseph 10.

Washington (2-2, 1-1 NIC) at Jimtown (4-2, 3-0 NIC): The Jimmies rolled to a 45-7 win over Washington last season. Marshawn Lottie raced 80 yards for a touchdown in the Panthers’ 56-6 loss to Kokomo. Jaymie Clere became the first Jimtown female player to score a touchdown in its triumph over Clay. Matt’s pick: Jimtown 46, Washington 8.

NORTHERN LAKES CONFERENCE

Concord (5-1, 4-0 NLC) at Plymouth (0-6, 0-4 NLC): The Rockies slipped past No. 9 (Class 5A) Concord, 27-23, during the 2019 campaign. Amarion Moore caught six passes for 82 yards and two scores for the Minutemen in their 38-24 win over Mishawaka. Devante Garcia registered a 72-yard touchdown reception in Plymouth’s 21-19 loss at Wawasee. Matt’s pick: Concord 39, Plymouth 11.

Goshen (2-4, 0-4 NLC) at Northridge (4-2, 2-2 NLC): The Raiders marched past Goshen, 28-17, a year ago. Quinn Bechtel had 90 yards through the air in the RedHawks’ 42-0 loss to Warsaw. Jethro Hochstetler tallied three receptions for 78 yards in Northridge’s 42-8 loss to NorthWood. Matt’s pick: Northridge 16, Goshen 14.

NorthWood (4-2, 3-1 NLC) at Mishawaka (4-2, 2-2 NLC): The Cavemen were a 30-16 winner over NorthWood last year. J.J. Payne came up with a pair touchdown catches for the Panthers against Northridge. Owen Walters raced for 21 yards and a score for Mishawaka against Concord. Matt’s pick: Mishawaka 30, NorthWood 29.

Wawasee (1-5, 1-3 NLC) at Warsaw (5-1, 4-0 NLC): The Tigers downed Wawasee, 42-17, last season. Nathan Larson found the end zone twice for the Warriors against Plymouth. Julian Jones came up with five rushes for 121 yards for Warsaw against Goshen. Matt’s pick: Warsaw 45, Wawasee 15.

DUNELAND CONFERENCE

Lake Central (3-3, 1-3 NLC) at Chesterton (5-1, 3-1 DAC): The No. 10 (Class 6A) Trojans blanked Lake Central, 42-0, a season ago. Owen Denny booted field goals of 22 yards and 26 yards in the Indians’ 49-13 kiss to Michigan City. Keegan Wrigley came up with an interception in Chesterton’s 27-0 win at Portage. Matt’s pick: Chesterton 36, Lake Central 6.

LaPorte (2-4, 1-3 DAC) at Crown Point (3-3, 2-2 DAC): The Slicers claimed a 24-14 win over Crown Point last year. Antonio Christensen tossed a touchdown pass and ran for another score in LaPorte’s 54-19 loss at Merrillville. Boedy Burandt returned a kickoff 85 yards for a score in the Bulldogs; 56-14 loss to Valparaiso. Matt’s pick: Crown Point 22, LaPorte 19.

Merrillville (6-0, 4-0 DAC) at Valparaiso (6-0, 4-0 DAC): The No. 2 (Class 5A) Vikings edged No. 3 (Class 6A) Merrillville, 29-28, in the 2019 campaign. Justin Marshall recorded six catches for 211 yards and four touchdowns for the Pirates against LaPorte. Ricky Hall Jr. racked up six catches for 165 yards and three touchdowns for Valparaiso against Crown Point. Matt’s pick: Merrillville 40, Valparaiso 37.

Portage (1-5, 0-4 DAC at Michigan City (3-3, 1-3 DAC): The Wolves roared past Portage, 28-7, last season. Corey Hill registered six tackles for the Indians against Chesterton. Racioin Anderson scampered for 99 yards and three scores for Michigan City against Lake Central. Matt’s pick: Michigan City 34, Portage 7.
