The regular season ended on a positive note as I went 12-2 (86 percent) last week. Entering the post-season, my overall record is now 117-27; which keeps me at 81 percent.

CLASS 5A SECTIONAL 10

Adams (3-6) at Goshen (4-5): The winner hosts Michigan City. The Eagles soared to a 39-7 win in the 2012 sectional opener. Demetree Jones had seven rushes for 20 yards in Adams’ 38-0 loss to Penn. Isaiah Park ran seven times for 37 yards in the RedHawks’ 28-25 win over Wawasee. Matt’s pick: Goshen 20, Adams 14.

LaPorte (2-7) at Concord (8-1): The survivor entertains Mishawaka. Brady Bernth tallied 94 yards through the air with a touchdown in the Slicers’ 35-13 loss to Portage. Amarion Moore hauled in a pair of touchdown passes for the No. 6 Minutemen in their 26-22 win over Warsaw. Matt’s pick: Concord 42, LaPorte 10.

CLASS 4A SECTIONAL 18

Riley (1-5) at Kankakee Valley (3-6): The Wildcats rolled to a 49-10 win over Kankakee Valley in the 2017 sectional quarterfinals. Elijah Taylor was 2-of-9 for 11 yards in Riley’s 35-0 loss to Jimtown. Cade Capps raced for 36 yards and a score in the Kougars’ 27-14 loss to Highland. Matt’s pick: Kankakee Valley 13, Riley 6.

Saint Joseph (2-7) at Logansport (5-2): The Berries posted a 36-7 win over Saint Joseph in last year’s sectional semifinals. Sam Sparks snatched an interception in the Indians’ 16-6 loss to Marian. Gavin Barron scampered 12 yards for a touchdown in Logansport’s 43-21 loss to Lafayette Jeff. Matt’s pick: Logansport 34, Saint Joseph 12.

Plymouth (0-9) at New Prairie (7-2): The Rockies surprised New Prairie, 36-20, in last year’s sectional quarterfinals. Caden Hooley recorded 14 tackles in Plymouth’s 42-14 loss to NorthWood. Kole Staley caught a five-yard touchdown pass in the Cougars’ 21-14 loss at Elkhart. Matt’s pick: New Prairie 39, Plymouth 15.

Culver Academy (6-3) at Clay (0-8): The Colonials suffered a 44-0 loss to Culver Academy in the 2019 sectional opener. Nikko DiPino registered nine rushes for 45 yards with a touchdown in the Eagles’ 25-20 loss to Guerin Catholic. Ayden Kent caught four passes for 45 yards in Clay’s 49-0 loss at Bremen. Matt’s pick: Culver Academy 41, Clay 6.

CLASS 4A SECTIONAL 19

DeKalb (1-8) at Wawasee (1-8): The Warriors earned a 27-14 win over DeKalb in the 2012 sectional quarterfinals. Mitch Snyder came up with 14 carries for 59 yards in the Barons’ 14-0 to Leo. Caleb Clevenger booted a 24-yard field goal for Wawasee against Goshen. Matt’s pick: Wawasee 16, DeKalb 9.

Leo (9-0) at East Noble (6-2): The No. 2 Lions edged East Noble, 40-32, on September 17. Mason Sheron rambled 19 times for 132 yards for Leo against DeKalb. Nick Munson racked up two catches for 46 yards with a score in the Knights’ 56-7 win over Bellmont. Matt’s pick: Leo 29, East Noble 21.

Northridge (5-4) at NorthWood (5-4): The Panthers roared past Northridge, 42-8, on September 24. Kain Holderread accounted for 36 yards on the ground with a score in the Raiders’ 58-14 loss to No. 7 Mishawaka. J.J. Payne came up with a pair of receptions for scores for NorthWood against Plymouth. Matt’s pick: NorthWood 32, Northridge 11.

Angola (2-7) at Columbia City (4-5): The Hornets dropped a 41-27 decision to Columbia City in the 2010 sectional semifinals. Tyler Call had a one-yard scoring run in Angola’s 49-14 loss to No. 4 (Class 2A) Eastside. Greg Bolt ran 10 times for 134 yards with a touchdown in the Eagles’ 23-13 loss to No. 8 (Class 3A) Norwell. Matt’s pick: Columbia City 23, Angola 12.

CLASS 3A SECTIONAL 26

Lakeland (3-6) at Glenn (4-4): Deion Marshall was 12-of-23 for 233 yards with three touchdowns in the Lakers’ 33-29 loss to Bluffton. Chase Howe caught a pass for a touchdown and returned a punt for another score in the Falcons’ 41-0 win over Washington. Matt’s pick: Glenn 22, Lakeland 13.

West Noble (4-5) at Jimtown (7-2): The Jimmies blanked West Noble, 38-0, in last season’s sectional semifinals. Estil Pruitt romped 31 times for 150 yards in the Chargers’ 26-12 win over Prairie Heights. Anderson Slabaugh came up with an interception for Jimtown against Riley. Matt’s pick: Jimtown 40, West Noble 10.

Marian (6-3) at Washington (3-4) (TCU School Field): The Knights crowned Washington, 35-6, during the 2019 campaign. Alec Markley connected on a 23-yard field goal for Marian against Saint Joseph. In their loss to Glenn, the Panthers were blanked for the first time in 15 contests. Matt’s pick: Marian 43, Washington 14.

Tippecanoe Valley (9-0) at Garrett (4-5): The Railroaders sidelined No. 7 Tippecanoe Valley, 27-14, in the 2011 sectional opener. Jamasyn Virgil registered 16 carries for 217 yards with four scores in the Vikings’ 56-25 win over Southwood. Mark William recorded 12 tackles in Garrett’s 8-0 loss to Central Noble. Matt’s pick: Tippecanoe Valley 30, Garrett 8.

CLASS 2A SECTIONAL 34

Lewis Cass (3-5) at Delphi (6-3): The Kings claimed a 33-6 win over Delphi in the 2017 sectional semifinals. Cooper Frey racked up 16 rushes for 113 yards and two scores for Lewis Cass in its 42-27 win over Twin Lakes. Kooper Kinsler ran 10 times for 151 yards and four touchdowns in the Oracles’ 60-6 win over Taylor. Matt’s pick: Delphi 33, Lewis Cass 29.

Wabash (2-6) at Pioneer (7-2): Antonio Grant hauled in six passes for 116 yards with two touchdowns in the Apaches’ 12-9 win over Whitko. Brock Robinson scampered 29 times for 113 yards and two scores in the Panthers’ 22-14 win over North Judson. Matt’s pick: Pioneer 44, Wabash 15.

Bremen (6-3) at Manchester (4=4): The Lions opened the 2019 playoffs with a 21-14 win over Manchester. Austin Young returned a fumble 28 yards for a score for Bremen against Clay. Dominic Lincoln accounted for 13 tackles in the Squires’ 33-13 loss to Peru. Matt’s pick: Bremen 37, Manchester 18.

LaVille (6-2) at Rochester (5-2): The Lancers blanked Rochester, 23-0, during the 1982 campaign. Lucas Plummer tossed for 103 yards and two scores in LaVille’s 19-6 win over Culver. Alex Deming had 31 rushes for 171 yards and three scores in the Zebras’ 44-12 win over Maconaquah. Matt’s pick: LaVille 25, Rochester 19.
