Goshen (1-0) at Marian (19-4): The Knights crowned Goshen, 63-32, a year ago. Gage Wortman paved the way with 13 points in the RedHawks’ 43-42 win over Fairfield. Deaglan Sullivan racked up 15 points a contest last year for Marian. Matt’s pick: Marian 61, Goshen 52.
Glenn (1-0) at Clay (1-0): The Falcons soared to a 65-58 win over Clay last season. Silas Kaser came uo with 14 points in Glenn’s 55-38 win over Plymouth. Jaden Pigee came up with 10 points in the Colonials’ 66-24 win over Smith Academy. Matt’s pick: Glenn 56, Clay 46.
Plymouth (0-1) at Triton (1-0): The Trojans trounced Plymouth, 60-40, last year. Davis Wray tallied 11 points for the Pilgrims against Glenn. Tyson Yates added 19 points in Triton’s 68-36 win over Oregon-Davis. Matt’s pick: Triton 57, Plymouth 44.
Riley (1-0) at Jimtown (4-19): The Wildcats cruised to an 83-38 win over Jimtown a season ago. Demarion Spann netted nine points in Riley’s 46-40 win at LaPorte. Beau Barhams averaged 11.7 points a contest a year ago for the Jimmies. Matt’s pick: Riley 66, Jimtown 50.
Saint Joseph (21-5) at Concord (1-0): The Indians rolled to a 64-40 win against Concord during the 2020-21 season. Jack Quinn chipped in four points a game a season ago for Saint Joseph. Malachi Emmons added 15 points for the Minutemen in their 66-46 win over Prairie Heights. Eric Gaff takes over for Mark Johnson as the Indians’ leader. Matt’s pick: Concord 63, Saint Joseph 58.
Washington (1-0) at Elkhart (14-12): The Lions clawed past Washington, 76-60, in their previous meeting. Marcus Northern poured in 17 points in the Panthers’ 62-54 win against Lake Central. Cam’Ron Daniels registered 8.5 points per contest for Elkhart in the 2020-21 season. Matt’s pick: Washington 64, Elkhart 61.
