My goal of reaching the 80 percent mark took a big hit as I went 13-11 (54 percent) last week. With two weeks left, my overall record is 176-56, which drops me to 76 percent for the year.

CLASS 6A

Westfield (11-1) at Merrillville (10-1): Carson Voorhees ran 10 times for 100 yards in the No. 2 Shamrocks’ 42-9 win over No. 8 Homestead. Angel Nelson went 12-of-26 for 187 yards with a score in the No. 7 Pirates’ 27-24 win over No. 5 Elkhart. Matt’s pick: Westfield 41, Merrillville 31.

Center Grove (12-0) at Indianapolis Ben Davis (7-5): The top-ranked Trojans downed Ben Davis, 35-12, on September 11.  Daniel Weems scampered 14 times for 113 yards with a touchdown in Center Grove’s 38-0 win over Warren Central. Devon Wiley tallied 13 carries for 103 yards in the Giants’ 27-21 win over No. 5 and defending state champion Carmel. Matt’s pick: Center Grove 47, Ben Davis 21.

CLASS 5A

Valparaiso (8-0) at Zionsville (6-5): Tommy Burbee had 26 rushes for 215 yards with three touchdowns and returned a kickoff 88 yards for another score in the No. 3 Vikings’ 35-14 win over No. 9 Mishawaka. Josh Stone came up with 10 carries for 107 yards in the Eagles’ 30-21 win over No. 2 Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger. Matt’s pick: Zionsville 27, Valparaiso 24.

Indianapolis Cathedral (11-1) at Castle (8-3): The No. 1 Irish cruised to a 42-7 win over Castle during the 2005 campaign. Jaron Tibbs came up with four catches for 74 yards in Cathedral’s 39-6 win over No. 4 Whiteland. Reece Yunker finished with eight carries for 55 yards and two touchdowns in the Knights’ 49-7 win over Jeffersonville. Matt’s pick: Cathedral 43, Castle 13.

CLASS 4A

Marion (10-3) at Hobart (10-2): Malachi Silmon raced 23 times for 122 yards and two scores in the Giants’ 28-20 win over East Noble. Tyler Turley finished with 18 carries for 122 yards and two touchdowns in the No. 7 Brickies’ 45-14 win at Logansport. Matt’s pick: Hobart 34, Marion 23.

Mooresville (12-1) at Indianapolis Roncalli (11-1): The No. 4 Rebels opened the 2013 post-season with a 48-6 win over No. 3 Mooresville. Hogan Denny went 5-of-13 for 105 yards and two touchdowns in the Pioneers’ 37-34 win over No. 2 Evansville Central. Kyle Lockard recorded two receptions for 89 yards with a score in Roncalli’s 35-14 win over No. 1 Mount Vernon (Fortville). Matt’s pick: Roncalli 40, Mooresville 38.

CLASS 3A

Indianapolis Bishop Chatard (11-1) at Marian (11-0): The No. 1 Trojans blanked No. 2 Marian, 45-0, in last year’s semistate finale. Tommy Hannon accounted for 131 yards and two touchdowns on 21 carries in Bishop Chatard’s 28-18 win over Fort Wayne Concordia. Mitchell Menting returned an interception 49 yards for a score in the Knights’ 56-0 blanking of Calumet. Matt’s pick: Bishop Chatard 35, Marian 20.

Danville (10-0) at Southridge (13-0): Tyler Dostin caught six passes for 96 yards with a score in the No. 5 Warriors’ 35-16 win over Sullivan. Matt Springer romped 15 times for 95 yards with two touchdowns and caught a 28-yard pass for another score in the No. 4 Raiders’ 49-28 win over No. 6 Lawrenceburg. Matt’s pick: Southridge 36, Danville 34.

CLASS 2A

Pioneer (12-1) at Fort Wayne Bishop Luers (7-6): Logan Smith hauled in a six-yard touchdown reception, recorded eight tackles, and recovered a fumble in the No. 3 Panthers’ 24-21 win over No. 1 Andrean. Krashaun Menson tallied five receptions for 130 yards with two scores in the Knights’ 36-17 win over Tipton. Matt’s pick: Pioneer 31, Bishop Luers 17.

Evansville Mater Dei (9-4) at Western Boone (9-4): The two-time defending state champion Stars claimed a regional crown in 1998 with a 28-21 win over Evansville Mater Dei. Eli McDurmon had eight catches for 108 yards with a touchdown in the Wildcats’ 16-6 win over No. 5 Triton Central. Luke Marsh came up with six rushes for 63 yards in Western Boone’s 42-27 win over No. 8 Heritage Christian. Matt’s pick: Evansville Mater Dei 20, Western Boone 18.

CLASS 1A

Lafayette Central Catholic (5-3) at South Adams (12-0): Owen Munn racked up 13 catches for 255 yards with two scores in the defending state champion Knights’ 37-32 win over Winamac. Drew Stutzman registered four receptions for 162 yards with two touchdowns in the No. 1 Starfires’ 48-35 win over No. 3 Southwood. Matt’s pick: South Adams 44, Lafayette Central Catholic 22.

Covenant Christian (13-0) at West Washington (11-0): Micah Wilson galloped 19 times for 122 yards with three touchdowns in the No. 5 Warriors’ 48-7 win over No. 6 South Putnam. Bobby Stevens accumulated 29 rushes for 200 yards with four scores in the No. 4 Senators’ 36-20 win over North Decatur. Matt’s pick: Covenant Christian 37, West Washington 35.
