Elkhart (2-0) at Goshen (0-2): The Lions eliminated Goshen, 75-50, in the opener of the 1972 Elkhart Sectional. Malachi Emmons tallied 12 points in Elkhart’s 77-75 win over Northridge. Quinn Bechtel added six points in the RedHawks’ 50-49 loss to West Noble. Matt’s pick: Elkhart 73, Goshen 54.
Marian (1-1) at Mishawaka (0-0): The No. 9 (Class 3A) Knights edged Mishawaka, 51-48, a year ago. Mitchell Menting recorded six points in Marian’s 60-49 loss to Riley. Caleb Williams scored 83 points last season for the Cavemen (12-11). Matt’s pick: Marian 57, Mishawaka 51.
New Prairie (3-0, 1-0 NIC) at Penn (0-1): The Kingsmen slipped past New Prairie, 51-46, a season ago. Braydon Flagg accounted for 19 points in the Cougars’ 79-58 win over LaPorte. Markus Burton racked up 16 points in Penn’s 73-63 setback to Carroll (Fort Wayne). Matt’s pick: New Prairie 67, Penn 64.
Riley (3-0) at Fort Wayne North (1-2): The Wildcats clawed past Fort Wayne North, 74-73, in the 2016-17 season. Tyson Lee mustered four points for Riley against Marian. Ryan Collins managed 21 points for the Legends in a 75-70 loss to Liberty Christian. Matt’s pick: Riley 79, Fort Wayne North 69.

Concord (0=1) at West Noble (1=1): The Minutemen suffered a 46-34 loss to West Noble last season. Zaven Koltookian accounted for 12 points in the first quarter in Concord’s 57-53 loss to Angola. Austin Cripe’s 23 points paced the Chargers against Goshen. Matt’s pick: West Noble 51, Concord 50.

Clay (0-0) at Washington (0-3, 0-1 NIC): The Panthers rolled to a 77-47 win over Clay a year ago. Christian Love registered 67 points last season for the Colonials (5-18).Jawan Agnew contributed six points in Washington’s 44-41 loss at New Prairie. Matt’s pick: Washington 66, Clay 53.
East Noble (1-2) at Northridge (1-1): The Knights crowned Northridge, 68-56, in their previous meeting. Hunter Kline finished with seven points in East Noble’s 65-26 loss to Carroll (Fort Wayne). Westview (2-1) at NorthWood (2-0): The Panthers clawed their way to a 66-53 win against No. 7 (Class 2A) Westview a season ago. Chaz Yoder had five points in NorthWood’s 60-47 win over Triton. Bremen (2-0) at New Prairie (3-1, 1-1 NIC): The Cougars posted a pair of wins over Bremen last season by scores of 54-41 and 37-32.
