Another year of high school basketball gets going this week and I am hoping to improve on last year’s record of 266-81, which was good for 77 percent for the 2019-20 campaign. Records are from last year unless indicated.

Grant Ott-Large tallied 327 points last season for the Slicers. Notre Dame recruit Blake Wesley accumulated 597 points for Riley. Matt’s pick: Riley 74, LaPorte 59.
Bremen (6-18) at Argos (16-9): The Lions clawed past Argos, 60-42, last season. Matt Miller takes over for Jerry Smith at Bremen. Carson Miller came up with 299 points for the Lions last year. Michael Richard helped the Dragons to a Class 1A sectional crown with 136 points. Matt’s pick: Bremen 39, Argos 38.
Glenn (14-9) at Plymouth (6-17): The Falcons soared to a 64-45 win over Plymouth last year. Carter Yung racked up 267 points for Glenn. Jake Reichard netted 352 points for the Pilgrims a year ago. Matt’s pick: Glenn 54, Plymouth 51.
