WACO, Tex. – Indiana Wesleyan Football Head Coach Jordan Langs received the honorable distinction of being voted the 2022 American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) NAIA Region 2 Coach of the Year. Langs is one of five NAIA coaches in the country to receive the prestigious award.

“I am humbled and honored to receive this award,” said Jordan Langs, Head Football Coach. “This is a result of a lot of people’s grit and investment in our program over six years. Thank you to the AFCA and my peers for this recognition!”

The AFCA recognizes five regional Coach of the Year winners in each of the Association’s five divisions: Football Bowl Subdivision, Football Championship Subdivision, Division II, Division III, and NAIA. The winners are selected by Active members of the Association who vote for coaches in their respective regions and divisions.

Langs led the Wildcats to their most successful year on the field in the program’s short five-season history. IWU tallied an 11-2 overall record, the 2022 MSFA Mideast Championship, and a semifinal appearance in the NAIA Football Championship Series.

The Wildcats ranked top-10 in the NAIA with 440 total points, 28 rushing touchdowns, 56 red-zone scores, and 46 red-zone touchdowns. The defense shut down the opposing attack with top-10 rankings with 26 interceptions, 854 tackles, and 38 sacks.
