SOUTH BEND, Ind. – Behind the team’s best shooting night of the season to date, IU South Bend jumped out early and cruised to a 114-52 win over the visiting East-West (Ill.) University Phantoms on Wednesday night.

Dylan Allen led the way with 22 points on a perfect 9-for-9 shooting performance, including a 4-for-4 night from three-point range. Five players in all finished with double-figures for the Titans (8-2), with Donyell Meredith scoring 17 points in just 19 minutes of work as a starter, and a career-high 15 points from Dane Simatovich after knocking down four three-pointers in the win. Sergio Diaz and Micah Poole each pitched in with ten points apiece on the night.

The Titans came out strong, scoring the game’s first 12 points and building a 26-6 lead midway through the first half. A 17-0 run that included three three-pointers and 10 points overall from Diaz late in the opening period pushed the IUSB lead to 40 just before the break.

The lead continued to grow throughout the rest of the game, with Simatovich pacing the offense with 15 points in the second half.

The win marks the fifth in the row for the Titans, who will step back into conference play on Saturday, Dec. 4 when they travel to Trinity Christian. Tipoff with the Trolls is set for 4:00 p.m. ET.
