JOLIET, Ill. – The No. 4 Indiana University South Bend baseball team fell 13-3 in the second round of the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament to top-seeded Olivet Nazarene Saturday May 8 at DuPage Medical Group Field in Joliet, Ill.

The Titans drop to 24-23 overall and will play in the elimination game Monday, May 10 against seventh seeded Roosevelt at 11 a.m. ET.

Three different Titans tallied hits on the night, including Logan SmithTJ DeHerrera and Jordan MooreJared Bais and Moore both collected an RBI while Smith and Taj Abdur-Rahman added a run scored.

On the mound, the Titans used four arms. Zack Dobos started the game and suffered the loss. Matt SmithCal Whitaker and Kyle Hallberg pitched the final innings in relief.

The Titans got things started in the first as Smith doubled to left center and eventually scored off a Bais ground out as IUSB lead 1-0.

Olivet Nazarene scattered its 13 runs in the third, fourth, sixth and seventh innings to seal the victory.

Abdur-Rahman drew a leadoff walk in the ninth to help the Crimson and Cream get two back in the final frame but it wasn’t enough as IUSB now faces No. 7 Roosevelt at 11 a.m. ET on Monday, April 10 for the double elimination game.
