Iowa Women’s Soccer Falls at Indiana
IOWA CITY, Iowa – The University of Iowa soccer team fell 2-0 at Indiana on Thursday night at Bill Armstrong Stadium.

The Hoosiers jumped out to an early lead with an Anna Bennet goal in the fifth minute of play off an assist from Jordyn Levy. The forward would set up Paige Webber later in the second half for another score in the 30th minute.

The Hawkeyes had a few scoring opportunities in the second half, including a header from fifth-year senior Alyssa Walker in the 72nd minute that went to the review monitor. The play was set up by a corner feed from Sara Wheaton, but upon review the call of a defensive block was not overturned.

Indiana held on for the win from there, snapping Iowa’s five game conference win streak.

HEAR FROM HEAD COACH DAVE DIANNI
“Tonight wasn’t our best performance as a team, but some credit has to go to Indiana. The game unfortunately was dictated right from the start by them physically, technically and tactically. We rebounded in the second half and played much better, but that is an Indiana team that is very comfortable defending behind the ball at times and we weren’t able to create enough quality chances. We look to rebound as a team Sunday versus Purdue.”
HAWKEYE NOTABLES
• 90 TRACKER: Sarah Wheaton (nine) played the entirety of Sunday’s game. Eight total Hawkeye position players have registered at least 90 minutes in a game so far this season. They include Rielee Fetty (six), Samantha Cary (five), Olivia Hellweg (two), Addie Bundy (two), Aleisha Ganief, Courtney Powell, and Kenzie Roling.
