Iowa and Nebraska Earn Big Ten Weekly Softball Awards
Hawkeyes’ Doocy and Klosterman, Huskers’ Andrews and Kinney garner this week’s accolades
Player of the Week
Kaylin Kinney, Nebraska
Fr. – RHP/UTL – Cedar Rapids, Iowa – Kennedy – Major: Undeclared
• Batted .800 with a 2.600 slugging percentage and .875 on-base percentage with three home runs, six RBI and four runs scored in the Huskers’ series sweep of visiting Maryland last weekend
• All three of her home runs came in consecutive at-bats, including two in a come-from-behind victory on May 1
• In that same two-homer game, started and pitched five innings, allowing just one run on five hits
• Earns her first career Player of the Week honor

Pitcher of the Week
Allison Doocy, Iowa
Grad. – RHP – Ankeny, Iowa – Ankeny – Master’s Program: Higher Education
• Went 2-0 with a 0.70 ERA, two complete games, one shutout and 11 strikeouts in 10.0 innings last weekend at Rutgers
• Tossed her first no-hitter and the 18th in program history (first since 2015) in Sunday’s five-inning victory
• Also recorded her 700th career strikeout during the weekend, becoming the sixth Hawkeye to reach that milestone
• A 2020 Big Ten Distinguished Scholar and three-time Academic All-Big Ten selection (2018, 2019, 2020)
• Collects her fourth career Pitcher of the Week plaudit and first this season
• Last Iowa Pitcher of the Week: Lauren Shaw (Feb. 17, 2020)

Brylee Klosterman, Iowa
OF – North Liberty, Iowa – Iowa City Liberty – Major: Enterprise Leadership
• Posted a .615 batting average, 1.077 slugging percentage and .667 on-base percentage with two home runs, five RBI and six runs scored in the Hawkeyes’ four-game series win at Rutgers last weekend
• Hit her first two career home runs in the first and last games of the series on April 30 and May 2
• Went 4-for-4 and drove in two runs in the nightcap of Iowa’s May 1 doubleheader sweep
• Receives her first career Freshman of the Week award
