Following Big Ten football games on Nov. 27-28, the Offensive, Defensive and Co-Special Teams Players of the Week and Freshman of the Week in the Big Ten were announced this morning. Below are this week’s honorees:

Offensive Player of the Week
Stevie Scott III, Indiana
Jr., RB, Syracuse, N.Y./Christian Brothers

  • Scored a career-high three touchdowns to lead Indiana to a victory against Maryland
  • Became the first Hoosier with three rushing touchdowns in a game since Jordan Howard in 2015
  • Has scored at least one touchdown in 16 of his last 22 games and has 26 total touchdowns in that span
  • Collects his second career Offensive Player of the Week award and first since 2019
  • Last Indiana Offensive Player of the Week: Ty Fryfogle (Nov. 23, 2020)

Defensive Player of the Week
Antjuan Simmons, Michigan State
Sr., LB, Ann Arbor, Mich./Pioneer

  • Recorded a game-high 13 tackles in a victory against Northwestern, one shy of his career best
  • Tallied two tackles for loss and a sack in the contest
  • Anchored a defense that held Northwestern to a season-low 20 points and handed the Wildcats their first loss of the season
  • Claims his first career Defensive Player of the Week honor
  • Last Michigan State Defensive Player of the Week: Joe Bachie (Sept. 23, 2019)

Co-Special Teams Players of the Week
Keith Duncan, Iowa
Sr., K, Weddington, N.C./Weddington

  • Connected on four field goals in a 26-20 win against Nebraska to move into the top five in school history for career field goals made with 48
  • Converted from 32, 33, 48 and 37 yards, including a pair of field goals in the fourth quarter to break a 20-20 tie
  • Added a pair of extra points to finish the contest with 14 points
  • Earns his fifth career Special Teams Player of the Week honor and first of the season
  • Last Iowa Special Teams Player of the Week: Charlie Jones (Nov. 9, 2020)

Matt Coghlin, Michigan State
Sr., K, Cincinnati/Moeller

  • Made his fourth career game-winning field goal, a 48-yarder with 2:47 left in the game, to put Michigan State on top of Northwestern, 23-20
  • Split the uprights from 22, 44 and 48 yards to record his third multi-field goal outing this season
  • Has made at least one field goal of 40 or more yards in all three games with a field goal this season
  • Claims his third career Special Teams Player of the Week honor and first since 2018

Freshman of the Week
Keyvone Lee, Penn State
RB, St. Petersburg, Fla./American Collegiate Academy

  • Rushed for a career-high 134 yards in Penn State’s victory at Michigan
  • Recorded the most rushing yards by a Penn State freshman since Saquon Barkley’s 194 yards at Ohio State in 2015
  • Opened the scoring with a six-yard touchdown run on the first drive of the game
  • Collects his first career Freshman of the Week award
