Indiana, Northwestern and Rutgers Earn Big Ten Weekly Softball Awards
Hoosiers’ Copeland, Wildcats’ Lewis and Williams, and Scarlet Knights’ Callaway capture this week’s conference honors

Co-Player of the Week
Rachel Lewis, Northwestern
Grad. – OF – Liberty Township, Ohio – Lakota East – Major: Learning & Organizational Change
• Batted .444 with a 1.111 slugging percentage and .545 on-base percentage in last weekend’s series sweep over Michigan State to open Big Ten play, adding two home runs, eight RBI and four runs scored
• Had a home run, four RBI and two runs scored in each of the final two games of the series, including a walk-off grand slam in Sunday’s 9-1 six-inning victory over the Spartans
• Extended nationally-ranked NU’s current winning streak to 12 games
• A three-time Academic All-Big Ten selection and 2021 Big Ten Distinguished Scholar
• Captures her fourth career Player of the Week honor and second this season

• Posted a .714 batting average with a 1.571 slugging percentage and .818 on-base percentage in last weekend’s conference-opening series vs. Minnesota, collecting a home run, three doubles, seven RBI and three runs scored
• Hit her second career grand slam as part of a five-RBI outing in RU’s win over the Golden Gophers on March 25, Rutgers’ first-ever victory against Minnesota
• Earned recognition as a Big Ten Distinguished Scholar and Academic All-Big Ten honoree last year
• Receives her first career Player of the Week award

Pitcher of the Week
Danielle Williams, Northwestern
Sr. – LHP – Pleasanton, Calif. – Amador Valley – Major: Human Development in Context
• Went 2-0 with a save, 0.00 ERA, two complete games, one shutout, 28 strikeouts and just four walks in 14.0 innings last week, helping NU open conference play with a sweep over visiting Michigan State
• Tossed a one-hit shutout with a career-high 17 strikeouts in the March 25 series opener, carrying a no-hitter into the fifth inning
• Gave up just two hits and an unearned run with nine strikeouts in Sunday’s series finale, extending her current streak to 26.0 innings without allowing an earned run
• Named a 2021 Big Ten Distinguished Scholar and Academic All-Big Ten selection
• Collects her eighth career Pitcher of the Week plaudit and third this season

• Registered a .500 batting average, 1.200 slugging percentage and .500 on-base percentage in last weekend’s conference-opening series at Ohio State
• Collected two home runs and six RBI (all in Indiana’s 17-5 win on March 25) while playing three different positions during the series (pitcher, third base, left field)
• Also pitched 4.2 innings, allowing just two hits and one earned run with four strikeouts
