South Bend, Ind. The Holy Cross College women’s soccer team hosted Trinity International University this evening in the opening round of the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference women’s soccer post-season tournament. The Saints entered the match as the #3 seed while the Trojans were the #6 seed. This was the second matchup between the two teams this season, with Holy Cross getting the first-meeting victory by a score of 3-2. Despite outshooting the Trojans 10-5 in the first half, the match entered halftime tied 0-0. Holy Cross controlled the ball for most of the second half, but were unable to come away with any goals. In the 76th minute, Olivia Shaw sent in a corner kick that Audrey Filippo headed into the goal to give HCC a 1-0 lead. That goal would stand, as the Saints would come away with the 1-0 victory. With the win, Holy Cross improves to 9-4 and 7-3 in conference play, while TIU finishes their season at 7-6 and 5-5
