Fort Lupton’s (Colo.) Mendoza named 2020-21 MaxPreps/NFCA High School Player of Week (Fall)

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Rozzie Mendoza of Fort Lupton (Colo.) High School garnered 2020-21 MaxPreps/NFCA High School Player of the Week honors for her outstanding performance during the week of Sept 7-13.
Mendoza powered Fort Lupton to three big wins, batting .900 with eight of her nine hits going for extra bases. She recorded a trio of three-hit games, five doubles, a triple, and two home runs for a 2.200 slugging percentage. Mendoza drove in 14 runs, scored eight times, and did not strike out in 10 plate appearances.

She opened the week with two doubles, a triple, five RBI, and three runs scored versus Boulder. In a doubleheader against Yuma, Mendoza knocked in nine runs, homered in each contest, and posted three doubles. The sophomore registered five RBI and doubled twice in game one, while adding four more RBI and three runs in game two.
