Crossroads League Announces Athletes of the Week | May 9-15

JACKSON, Mich. – The Crossroads League Athletes of the Week were announced on Monday, recognizing the league’s top athletes from May 9 through 15. Sports Information Directors from the league institutions nominate student-athletes for the awards and vote on each week’s winners.

Baseball Player of the Week
Camden Knepp, Taylor
Knepp was locked in throughout No. 22 Taylor’s championship run through the Crossroads League Tournament, hitting .455 with three runs and six runs batted in over TU’s final three wins of the tourney.

Baseball Pitcher of the Week
Jack Ross, Taylor
Ross worked in relief during each of No. 22 Taylor’s Crossroads League Tournament victories over Huntington, including a crucial four-inning outing to help TU secure the title with a 12-9 win over the Foresters. Ross allowed zero runs on one hit and notched the win in that game.

Softball Player of the Week
Chloe Tragesser, Indiana Wesleyan
Tragesser roped a pair of doubles, knocked in two runs and scored two of her own to help No. 7 Indiana Wesleyan secure the Crossroads League Tournament Championship with a 10-2 win over Taylor.

Softball Pitcher of the Week
Maddi Evans, Taylor
Evans clinched a spot in the NAIA National Tournament for Taylor with a complete-game gem to help TU upset No. 14 Marian and secure the league’s second automatic bid. Evans fanned 13 in the 2-1 win, allowing just two hits and one run over seven innings.
