Crossroads League Adds Six CoSIDA All-America Nods on the Diamond
AUSTIN, Texas – The Crossroads League saw five baseball student-athletes and one softball student-athlete earn 2020 CoSIDA NAIA Academic All-America recognition recently, with Taylor and Mount Vernon Nazarene each picking up two awards.
The six CoSIDA Academic All-America awards improved the total number of honors from the Crossroads League during the 2019-2020 year to 18, with Taylor (6) and Grace (5) accounting for over half of those honors.
The CL was well represented on the CoSIDA NAIA Baseball Academic All-America Team, taking five-of-24 available spots from around the nation.
The CoSIDA Academic All-District and All-American awards are designed to recognize outstanding achievements in the classroom, as well as on the court or field of play. In order to be eligible for the honor, an athlete must be nominated by their institution’s Sports Information Department, must have a cumulative grade-point average of 3.30 or higher with at least one full year at their current institution, must have reached sophomore academic status and must have participated in over half of their team’s competitions as a key contributor during the current season.
CoSIDA Academic All-America honors are voted on by CoSIDA members from around the nation.
