Penn High School’s Markus Burton scored 24 to lead all scorers as the Indiana Junior Boys Basketball All-Stars defeated Kentucky, 112-102, on Sunday, June 5, 2022.
Burton paced the Indiana attack with 7-of-12 field-goal shooting (one 3-pointer) and 9-of-10 free-throw shooting. He also dished out eight assists.
A 6-foot point guard (Class of 2023), Burton has 1,364 career points and set the Penn single-season scoring record for Boys Basketball with 734 points in the 2021-2022 season.
Burton averaged 27.2 points, 6.1 rebounds, 5.1 assists and 3.2 steals a game in 2021-2022.
