  • Jamestown (N.D.) and Viterbo (Wis.) have faced each other twice before in the 2017 & 18 championships. The Jimmies hold the record with today’s win at 2-1.
  • Today’s Providence (Mont.) pool play win over Viterbo was the Argos third win in championship play in as many appearances.
  • Northwestern (Iowa) is 2-0 vs Oklahoma City in championship tournament play after today’s 3-2 win. The teams previously faced each other in the Round of 16 in 2019 where they went to four sets.
  • IU Kokomo’s (Ind.) win over Keiser (Fla.) was the second win that the team has captured at the championship tournament. The teams previous win was over Trinity Christian (Ill.) in the 2019 opening round.
  • IU Kokomo (Ind.) is the only three seed in a pool to win a match today.
  • Four teams from the Great Plains Athletic Conference won their matches in five sets. Those matches accounted for four of the five, five-set matches on day one.
  • Only one team will advance out of each pool into the quarterfinals. In the case of a three-way tie, a tie break scenario will be played out.
