37 NFF National Scholar-Athletes on Week 1 NFL Rosters

Thirty-seven former NFF National Scholar-Athletes/William V. Campbell Trophy® finalists appeared on NFL rosters or practice squads as the 2020 regular season began over the weekend. The group includes four recipients of the Campbell Trophy® Presented by Mazda in the Los Angeles Chargers’ Justin Herbert (Oregon-2019), Los Angeles Rams’ Micah Kiser (Virginia-2017), Atlanta Falcons’ Alex Mack (California-2008) and Miami Dolphins’ Christian Wilkins (Clemson-2018); six Pro Bowlers; and six first-round picks.

In addition to Herbert, four other members of the most recent NFF National Scholar-Athlete Class presented by Fidelity Investments from 2019 are on NFL teams: Rodrigo Blankenship (Georgia – Indianapolis Colts), Jordan Fuller (Ohio State – Los Angeles Rams), Jordan Mack (Virginia – Carolina Panthers) and Casey Toohill (Stanford – Philadelphia Eagles).

Twenty-five NFL teams boast at least one former NFF National Scholar-Athlete and several teams hold multiple NFF National Scholar-Athletes on their rosters, led by the Los Angeles Chargers with four. The New Orleans Saints and New York Giants each have three while the Baltimore Ravens, Indianapolis Colts, Las Vegas Raiders, Los Angeles Rams and New England Patriots all have two on their rosters.
