SOUTH BEND, Ind. – No. 22 IU South Bend was hot from three-point range all night on Monday, as the Titans picked up their fifth win in a row, 91-64 inside the Student Activities Center over Trinity Christian.
The Titans (16-3, 12-1 CCAC) connected on 19 three-pointers in the win, marking a new season high for the team. Six players finished in double figures, led by a career-high 20 points off the bench for Micah Poole, who went 6-for-10 from long range.
Dylan Allen tallied 19 points on 7-of-10 shooting and a 5-for-6 performance from beyond the arc, while Sam Snodgrass posted a career high in his second straight game, with 14 points, going 4-for-9 from three. Miles Tracy pitched in with 12 points, and Kenny Washington came up just three rebounds shy of a triple-double, finishing with 10 points and 10 assists.
Trinity Christian (9-12, 5-9 CCAC) jumped out to an early lead, 12-7 by the 16:30 mark, forcing an early timeout from IUSB. Following the break, the defensive pressure forced four straight turnovers as the Titans went on a 11-0 run over the next two minutes to claim an 18-12 advantage.
The Titans would lead the rest of the way, using 11 three-pointers in the first half to go up 53-32 at the break. Allen and Poole were a combined 9-for-10 from three-point range in the first half, before Allen knocked down two more treys within the first three minutes of play at the start of the second half. IUSB opened on a 9-1 run to claim a 62-33 lead by the 17:07 mark of the second period.
During the win, Allen also moved into fourth on IUSB’s all-time scoring list. His 19 points brings the senior to 1,470 points, one more than Jon Witkop (1997-02), and just six shy of Jeremy Herring (2002-07).
IU South Bend will now prepare for their fifth game in the next ten days, when they host Judson on Wednesday night. Tipoff with the Eagles from the Student Activities Center is set for 7:30 p.m.
