A pair of Cougars leading Saint Francis, and a record-setting performance from Concordia highlight the MSFA Mideast League Players of the Week.

Offensive Player of the Week
Heath Simmons, Saint Francis
Sr., QB, Hartford, Ky. (Ohio County HS)

  • Completed 24 of 32 passes for 260 yards in Saint Francis’ 52-14 win over St. Francis (Ill.)
  • Threw three TDs with no interceptions in the win
  • Earns his first career MSFA Offensive Player of the Week award

Defensive Player of the Week
Nate Talhelm, Saint Francis
Jr., LB, Indianapolis, Ind. (Franklin Central HS)

  • Made a team-high 11 tackles in the Cougars’ 52-14 win over St. Francis (Ill.)
  • Registered a half-sack for a loss of four yards
  • Earns his first career MSFA Defensive Player of the Week award

Special Teams Player of the Week
Seeger DeGayner, Concordia
Jr., KR, Grand Blanc, Mich. (Linden HS)

  • Returned a kickoff 100 yards for a TD in the Cardinals’ 41-24 win over St. Ambrose
  • Collected a total of 253 kick return yards, averaging 63.3 per return
  • Became the Cardinals’ all-time leader in KR yards, and earns his second career MSFA Special Teams Player of the Week award
