Trojans Drop Top-25 Series to IWU
MARION, Ind. – After splitting Saturday’s doubleheader at No. 23 Indiana Wesleyan, the No. 18 Trojans failed to get much going their way on Monday, suffering a lopsided sweep to the hosts to drop three-of-four in the series.
Taylor could not get on track in the doubleheader, managing only one run on eight hits and committing four fielding errors in the 11-0 and 13-1 defeats.
Jacob Morris and Joe Moran were the lone Trojan hitters with two hits in Monday’s action, with Moran and Conner Crawford doubling once each for TU’s lone extra-base hits on the day.
The Taylor hurlers could not slow the red-hot Indiana Wesleyan (32-11, 21-3 CL) lineup, which finished with 24 runs in the doubleheader and 41 tallies over the four-game series.
No. 18 Taylor (29-12, 18-6 CL) will look to bounce back with a home series against Spring Arbor (18-18, 12-12 CL) on April 16 and 17. First pitch at Winterholter Field is slated for 3:00 pm on Friday and noon on Saturday.
