PREVIOUS MEETING: Carmel beat Hamilton Southeastern, 28-14, on November 1, 2019 in Class 6A sectional semifinal.
UP NEXT: Hamilton Southeastern hosts Homestead (4-6) or travels to No. 8 Carroll (Fort Wayne) (9-1) for regional final. Carmel plays at Homestead or Carroll (Fort Wayne).
TOP PERFORMERS: Adam Hoog recorded 10 tackles for the Royals against Fishers. Carson Clark hauled in eight passes for 68 yards for the No. 10 Greyhounds against No. 3 Westfield.
COACHES’ CORNER: “The keys for victory for us this week are we must play fast, disciplined, and physical. We must also control the line of scrimmage, take care of the football, and be assignment sound on defense.” – Hamilton Southeastern’s Michael Kelly.
“We have to focus on the task in front of us and come out with the same intensity we did last week. Don’t allow their offense to dictate the pass of the game. We must win first down, get them off schedule, and be great tacklers. We need to create explosive plays on offense while focusing on ball security. It’s another big county rival for us, so we must match their emotion early and find a way to win in the fourth quarter. These are similar thoughts to last week, just a different opponent.” – Carmel’s Kevin Wright.
CLASS 6A SECTIONAL 5
INDIANAPOLIS BEN DAVIS (5-5) AT BROWNSBURG (10-0)
KICKOFF: 7 p.m. EST, Roark Stadium.
COACHES: Brett Cooper, 5-5 in first year at Ben Davis, 47-60 in 10th year overall. John Hart, 106-19 in 11th year at Brownsburg, 373-100 in 42nd year overall.
LAST CONTEST: Ben Davis defeated Avon, 32-10. Brownsburg defeated Zionsville, 48-10.
PREVIOUS MEETING: Brownsburg beat Ben Davis, 38-35, on November 8, 2024, in Class 6A sectional final.
UP NEXT: Ben Davis entertains North Central (Indianapolis) (3-7) or goes to No. 4 Lawrence North (8-2) for regional title. Brownsburg travels to North Central (Indianapolis) or Lawrence North.
TOP PERFORMERS: Elijah Elliott was responsible for 10 tackles for the Giants against Avon. Parker Condon amassed nine rushes for 75 yards with two touchdowns for the top-ranked and two-time defending state champion Bulldogs against No. 12 Zionsville.
COACHES’ CORNER: “What a great opportunity for our kids and program to play in this type of game with the season that we have been through. The ultimate high and low, but to still be standing when titles are on the line. Huge credit to our players and staff for continuing to fight and improve each week with the idea that we are going to peak at the right time. Brownsburg is a one of one team in the history of Indiana high school football. They deserve and have earned all of the credit and publicity they get, but this game is about the Giants. We must play our brand of football for 48 minutes. We must protect the football on the offensive side of the ball and grind out first downs and drives in order to affect the scoreboard and field position. We must align perfectly to their offense in order for us to fly to the football. We have played top notch defense all year and need to continue to play at that high level Friday night. We need our star players to be stars. (Defensive back) Keontay Toomer is hands down the most gifted player I’ve ever coached and he has to perform that way Friday. We also need to make the ordinary play on both sides of the ball and content working the field. Brownsburg has thrived off turnovers and short fields and in order for us to have a chance, we must eliminate those situations for them. Although Brownsburg has a prolific pass game, it is their run game that steers this team. Their run game allows the passing game to get one on one opportunities. We must play sound in all three phases in order to give us a chance Friday night. Luckily for us, we are playing our best football right now and have all intentions on continuing that Friday night.” – Ben Davis’s Brett Cooper.
“On offense, No. 4 (defensive back Keontay Toomer) is going to Louisville and is a great player. We need to find him on all run and pass plays because he can dominate the game. On defense, they have a young quarterback (sophomore DJ Mitchell) who wants to throw ball quickly. We need to defend early and try to hit him often. On special teams, they have two great returners who are really dangerous, so this will be a challenge for us.” – Brownsburg’s John Hart.
CLASS 5A SECTIONAL 11
FORT WAYNE SNIDER (6-4) AT WARSAW (9-1)
KICKOFF: 7 p.m. EST, Fisher Field.
COACHES: Kurt Tippmann, 167-51 in 18th year at Fort Wayne Snider. Bart Curtis, 73-26 in ninth year at Warsaw, 274-128 in 36th year overall.
LAST CONTEST: Fort Wayne Snider defeated Fort Wayne South, 37-14. Warsaw defeated Fort Wayne Wayne, 44-0.
PREVIOUS MEETING: Warsaw beat Fort Wayne Snider, 33-30, on August 21, 2026.
UP NEXT: Fort Wayne Snider travels to Huntington North (6-4) or welcomes No. 7 Lafayette Jeff (8-2) for regional title. Warsaw plays at Huntington North or Lafayette Jeff.
TOP PERFORMERS: Omari Buchanan had 13 carries for 121 yards with a score for the No. 9 Panthers against Fort Wayne South. Michael Schenck found the end zone three times for the No. 4 Tigers against Fort Wayne Wayne.
COACHES’ CORNER: “Warsaw is a very well-coached and physical team. It requires a different style of play from us on defense. We will have to be gap sound and physical on the line of scrimmage to be successful. We also can’t give up big plays because this is what cost us the first game. On offense, we can’t turn the ball over and give Warsaw any extra possessions. Special teams are also going to be a big factor.” – Fort Wayne Snider’s Kurt Tippmann.
“We must take care of the football when we have it. Fort Wayne Snider is a team that will make you pay dearly for any mistakes you make. They do not need any addition assistance. They are already more than capable without our help. We must keep the ball in front of us and inside of us (when they have the football). F.W. Snider has such big-play potential (as we saw in our week one game vs. them). Our kicking game must not only be solid, but be a weapon (and not a necessary evil). We must meet their intensity and physicality. If not, it will be a long night for the Tigers. Passion over panic. There is a big difference. We must play with pride, poise, enthusiasm, and effort. Their four losses are to Warsaw (they had a 30-18 lead with 10 minutes to go and we stole the game in week one). East Noble (currently undefeated). Carroll (Fort Wayne (one loss to Center Grove). Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger (one loss to Carroll (FW)). It should be a great game, trusting we can hang around for three-and-a-half quarters.” – Warsaw’s Bart Curtis.

COACHES’ CORNER: “For the eighth week in 11 games, we will play a top-five ranked team and this one is No. 1 in Class 5A. Cathedral is a tremendous program with a great tradition. It is a shame No. 1 vs. No. 2 has to happen so early in the tournament, but the challenge on the road again is one we have to accept and attack.” – New Palestine’s Kyle Ralph.
“It should be a great environment at (Indianapolis) Tech for the sectional championship vs. New Palestine. They are an excellent team that is very well-coached. We will have to play a great game to secure the victory. The keys are controlling the line of scrimmage and playing disciplined mistake-free football.” – Cathedral’s Bill Peebles.

COACHES’ CORNER: “East Noble presents a great challenge on both sides of the ball. We must win the line of scrimmage, the turnover battle, and minimize penalties. Every possession will matter in this game.” – Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger’s Jason Garrett.
“We need to run the ball effectively, stop the run, win the turnover battle, and play sound on special teams.” – East Noble’s Alex Stewart.

COACHES’ CORNER: “The Danville Warriors will need to play with an elite sense of urgency and attention to details this Friday night vs. Bishop Chatard. This will be a high-level football game that will challenge our Warriors to fight through adversity and find a way to take advantage of favorable matchups. Our ability to make adjustments throughout the game will give us an opportunity to compete into the fourth quarter and put us in position to find a way to win the game. We’re looking forward to a great night of football.” – Danville’s Jayme Comer.
“Danville has a tremendous football team and they have had a great year. They do some things offensively that are very difficult to prepare for and they can play old-school and modern football just as well as anybody. Defensively, they are physical and take a lot of things away from a lot of offenses. The key for us is going to control the football on offense and be able to stop there very powerful run game. This time of year, when you play great teams, it is always about playing your assignments to the best of your ability with physicality.” – Bishop Chatard’s Rob Doyle.
CLASS 3A SECTIONAL 25
ANDREAN (10-1) AT TWIN LAKES (8-3)
KICKOFF: 7:30 p.m. EST, Twin Lakes Field.
COACHES: Chris Skinner, 101-39 in 11th year at Andrean. Kevin O’Shea, 28-17 in fourth year at Twin Lakes, 267-127 in 34th year overall.

Mason Brummett scampered 11 times for 96 yards with two touchdowns, caught three passes for 30 yards with another score, recorded four tackles, and returned an interception 37 yards for a fourth tally for the Indians against Bishop Noll.
COACHES’ CORNER: “We are excited for the opportunity to play in the sectional championship game. We are anticipating a packed house in Monticello, which should make for an electric atmosphere. We experienced an atmosphere like that in our round one victory over Griffith. That’s part of what makes high school football special. On the field, we have a challenge in dealing with Twin Lakes’ offense. Their quarterback (Cooper Dold) is terrific. In addition to the physical profile, he has the arm talent and athleticism to do everything you want from the quarterback position. He has multiple receiving options, three of which are 6-foot-1 and taller. Their running back (Mason Brummett) is a downhill runner, so you can’t focus solely on the passing attack. They have put up points all season, so we’ll need to construct a game plan to slow down the offensive attack. Their defense flies around and plays with physicality. They are obviously coached well, so we’ll need to package together a variety of offensive looks to keep them off-balance as much as possible. To win playoff games on the road, you need to match the intensity of the home atmosphere and play clean football. We’ll need a good week of practice leading up to Friday.” – Andrean’s Chris Skinner.
“What stands out to me is the great defensive ball club that they are. They have elite talent all around, so we have to move the football with the understanding that first downs are a win. Offensively, they are big up front with a (NCAA) Division 1 backfield, but what makes them go is their quarterback (Dylan Gore). He has some very good talent at wide receiver and is a real accurate passer. Andrean deserves to be a top ranked contender in (Class) 3A and they have few weaknesses.” – Twin Lakes’ Kevin O’Shea.
CLASS 3A SECTIONAL 32
EVANSVILLE MEMORIAL (11-0) AT EVANSVILLE MATER DEI (9-2)

COACHES’ CORNER: “Mater Dei is one of the most storied programs in Indiana high school football history, and Coach Hess and his staff have continued that tradition of excellence. They are a well-coached, physical football team that plays extremely hard on both sides of the ball. To be successful, we’ll need to eliminate mistakes, stop the run, and make plays in space defensively. Offensively, we must protect the football, create explosive plays, and finish drives with points. (Evansville) Memorial and Mater Dei is one of the great rivalries in Indiana high school football, and playing for a sectional championship at the Reitz Bowl makes it even more special. Our players understand the challenge ahead, and we’re excited for the opportunity to compete at a high level in what should be an outstanding atmosphere on Friday night.” – Evansville Memorial’s John Hurley.
“Playing for a sectional championship is where you want to be at this point in the season. We are playing football in November for a championship. We are excited for a great atmosphere and the opportunity to play. Evansville Memorial is an extremely well-coached team and will be a tough battle. Coach Hurley and his staff do a great job with their preparation and we have a lot of respect for their program. In our first matchup, we did not play well in the second half of the game, which they took advantage of. To be successful on Friday, we must take care of the football offensively, stay ahead of the chains, and convert on 3rd downs to keep our offense on the field. Defensively, we have to try to limit their quarterback (Luke Brown) as much as possible, have success on early downs, and get off the field on third downs. On special teams, we need to win the field position battle. We will need to play our best game of the year on Friday and it’s the best time of the year to do it.” – Evansville Mater Dei’s Cody Hess.
CLASS 2A SECTIONAL 36

COACHES’ CORNER: “In order for us to be successful this week, we will need to play disciplined football in all three phases of the game. Lapel has a very athletic team with an aggressive defense and an explosive offense. We will need to focus on what we do well on offense and play fundamental defense with great pursuit. We will have to have fewer mental mistakes and penalties than Lapel to give ourselves an opportunity to win.” – Hagerstown’s Scott Snodgrass.
“Hagerstown is 11-0 ball club, so we will have to be firing on all cylinders on Friday. Offensively, we need to slow down their running game and keep their quarterback (Graham Vinson) contained in the pocket. Offensively, we need to take care of the football and control the clock. Special teams’ is going to be huge for both teams in terms of field position and trying to steal possessions.” – Lapel’s Tim Miller.

COACHES’ CORNER: “Eastern Hancock is well-coached and very disciplined with a load of talented players. We have to match them with an ability to avoid mistakes and have great mental preparedness. Eastern Hancock has tremendous team speed. They are physical, very fundamental, and they present a fast physical defense that attacks. We will have to execute the game plan to have success in all three phases of the football game.” – Indianapolis Lutheran’s Dave Pasch.
“Indianapolis Lutheran is the gold standard of (Class) 1A and (Class) 2A football. We have to be focused through the week of practice and have to play a complete team game. Their offense is extremely explosive, so we have to find a way to limit big plays. Their defense does not make mistakes and is very physical. We have to find a way to match their physicality and have to take care of the football.” – Eastern Hancock’s William Coonce.

Ayson Harper contributed 14 carries for 88 yards with two scores and three tackles with two for loss for the No. 4 Bluejays against Winamac.
COACHES’ CORNER: “It will take our best game of the year. North Judson has a very good football team. We will need to have a good week of practice, find things that we can exploit, and execute those things on Friday. We will need to believe in ourselves more for this game than we have in any other game this year. Things are not going to come easy in this game. We will need to persevere and keep playing as hard as we can for the entire game. We played in the sectional championship last year, and if we want a different result, we will need our best game of the year.” – West Central’s Marc Hall.
“In order to be victorious against West Central, we have to be disciplined in our defensive assignments against their option attack. Offensively, we have to be balanced, take care of the football, and run the ball with an attitude. Most importantly, we have to bring a championship mindset and effort every play.” – North Judson’s Brett Lambert.
CLASS 1A SECTIONAL 46
MILAN (9-2) AT NORTH DECATUR (9-2)
KICKOFF: 7 p.m. EST, Kaelin Field.
COACHES: Ryan Langferman, 135-85 in 19th year at Milan. Steve Stirn, 101-41 in 12th year at North Decatur, 188-90 in 24th year overall.
LAST CONTEST: Milan defeated Edinburgh, 68-10. North Decatur defeated Union County, 43-0.
PREVIOUS MEETING: Milan beat North Decatur, 56-7, on September 4, 2026.
UP NEXT: Milan hosts Tri (6-5) or Knightstown (9-2) for regional championship. North Decatur travels to Knightstown or welcomes Tri.
TOP PERFORMERS: Lane Smith completed all three of his passes for 100 yards with two touchdowns and carried the ball three times for 32 yards with another score for the No. 8 Indians against Edinburgh. Hunter Nobbe scampered nine times for 41 yards with two scores for the Chargers against Union County.
COACHES’ CORNER: “It’s always tough to beat a team twice in the same season and North Decatur presents that challenge for us Friday night. In order to be successful, we need to win the turnover and explosive-play battles and be sound in all three phases of the game. (Running back) Simon Barber is a tremendous player for North Decatur. We have to know where he is on the field at all times. Limiting his big plays and keeping him contained when he has the ball in his hands will be key for our defense. Up front, our offensive and defensive lines need to control the line of scrimmage, especially against their standout lineman, Charlie Parmer. At this point in the season, you have to play your best football, and we’re going to need a complete team effort to come away with a win and bring home a sectional championship.” – Milan’s Ryan Langferman.
“Success this week will come down to execution under pressure and elimination of errors. The Indians enter this contest with a dominant run game premised on misdirection and overwhelming the point of attack. Their offensive line has good size and are experienced. The Langferman brothers (Grant Langferman and Beckett Langferman) account for the majority of the Indians offense, accounting for 48 percent of the Indians’ rushing attack and 23 percent of the passing attack. Containing these threats will be an important part of the Chargers’ game plan. In the first meeting between these teams this year, the Chargers had multiple unforced turnovers that led to short fields, of which the Indians took advantage. The Chargers will need to be sure to value the ball and control the tempo of the game. Milan is a physical and aggressive opponent that wants to fight in a phone booth. Defensively, the Indians deploy a ‘5-2’ front that emphasizes stopping the run at all costs. The Chargers will have to find a way to move the line of scrimmage and make first down decisions. The real question will be about growth and coach-ability. The Chargers will need to demonstrate their team and individual growth from week three. The keys to success will be execution, controlling the tempo and pace of the game, and answering physicality with physicality.” – North Decatur’s Steve Stirn.
