COACHES’ CORNER: “We are going to have to execute efficiently on offense. They are a physical team and do a great job of attacking the ball. We are going to have to sustain our blacks in order to move the ball. Defensively, we must be able to stop their run game first. They run the ball very well. We also need to prevent them from hitting the long ball on us. Our secondary has their hands full. They have very good receivers that need to be neutralized.” – Adams Central’s Michael Mosser.
“This week we are playing one of the best programs in the state of Indiana. Adams Central is the measuring stick for each team in the ACAC (Allen County Athletic Conference), and this is a great opportunity for our program to see how we stack up against one of the state’s best. For us to have a chance to win this game. we are going to have to control the ball while on offense and then limit their big play opportunities when they are on offense. We need to make them earn it. This game is going to test us both mentally and physically after the loss vs. Heritage last week. Hopefully, we can make enough plays to have a chance in the fourth quarter!” – Bluffton’s Brent Kunkel.

TOP PERFORMERS: D’Andre Black hauled in seven passes for 158 yards with three scores for the No. 3 (Class 5A) Panthers against Columbus North. CJ Harris raced 20 times for 138 yards for the Braves against Terre Haute South.
COACHES’ CORNER: “We will need to be sound in all that we do. Brebeuf does not make many mistakes and are very well-coached. We will have to be at our best in all phases of the game.” – Bloomington South’s Gabe Johnson.
“Bloomington South is one of the best teams in the state this year. They have an explosive offense and a shutdown defense. To win the game, we will have to get all of our defenders to the ball on every snap. We’ve been too inconsistent with that this season, but I expect a good effort this week. On offense, we will need to sustain drives and score in the red zone. Our run game has started to come along and I think we will be another week better against them this week. If we can take advantage of our kicking game, we can win the special teams’ segment as we have one of the best weapons in the state with (kicker-punter) Quinn Warren.” – Brebeuf Jesuit’s Matt Geske.
FISHERS (5-2) AT WESTFIELD (6-1)
KICKOFF: 7 p.m. EDT, Riverview Memorial Stadium.
COACHES: Curt Funk, 21-18 in fourth year at Fishers, 98-54 in 14th year overall. Jake Gilbert, 98-53 in 13th year at Westfield, 128-89 in 19th year overall.

COACHES’ CORNER: “Westfield is a tremendous football team with a strong history of tradition. We have a tall task ahead of us to win on the road at Westfield, so we will need to play mistake-free football. We need to execute for a full game and players will need to step up filling in for some of our injured players.” – Fishers’ Curt Funk.
“We’ll have to contain (Fishers running back) Khobie Martin the best we can. No one can stop him. He’s clearly one of the best players in Indiana. Fishers has an explosive offense all around, but the running back is the best player out of several really good players. On defense, they have a game wrecker at defensive end in Brady Wolf and are playing really well across the board. Fishers has lost, barely, to two great teams (Hamilton Southeastern and Brownsburg), so they are under rated a bit. We have to take care of the football better than we have all year on offense and find a way to run the ball effectively against their front, which will be tough to do.” – Westfield’s Jake Gilbert.
HERITAGE CHRISTIAN (5-2) AT SOUTH PUTNAM (6-1)
KICKOFF: 7:30 p.m. EDT, Wildman Field.

COACHES’ CORNER: “This has to be our most physical game of the year. South Putnam is a tough, hard-nosed football team with great athletes. We need to bring great intensity and focus into this game to be successful.” – Heritage Christian’s Kyle Ray.
“Heritage Christian is very well-coached. They do a lot of things we have to prepare for on the offensive side. Their quarterback (Eli Nix) and running back (Elijah Pimental) are very good, so we must stop the run first. We will try to stop the run with our interior six so we can play our three high safeties vs. the pass. They have multiple weapons on the receiving side. We gave up 51 points earlier this season vs. a balanced attack offense (Greencastle), so this will be an opportunity to prove that we have gotten better and learned from our mistakes. Offensively, the only time we have been stopped this year was by ourselves, penalties, and turnovers. We must control the line of scrimmage and be able to run power and counter to open up the rest of our offense. It will be a great fun night at Wildman Field.” – South Putnam’s Chuck Sorrell.
LAWRENCE NORTH (5-2) AT CENTER GROVE (6-1)
KICKOFF: 7 p.m. EDT, Ray Skillman Stadium.

COACHES’ CORNER: “We need to stay focused. We can’t get too high with our emotions, and we cannot let them get too low. We have to find our way back to the middle and stay focused. We need to play the next play. Good or bad, we must be able to move on. This is another well-coached and physically tough team on our schedule and we must play fast and physical in all facets of the game.” – Lawrence North’s Pat Mallory.
“Lawrence North is a great football team. They are much improved and really know how to win. They have excellent skill players and tough physical linemen. In a lot of ways, they are built like Center Grove. We have to find a way to equalize them on their great special teams’ play. Our defense has to get off the field on third down, try not to give up any big play scores, make them drive the ball, and not give them easy scores. Great tackling will be a must. Our offense must be productive on first down, be excellent on third down conversions, and keep the penalties to a minimum. Having zero turnovers is a must for a game like this. Plus. we must excel on special teams to flip the field. As always, we have to be able to run the ball and protect the quarterback in our passing game.” – Center Grove’s Eric Moore.
NEW HAVEN (7-0) AT EAST NOBLE (5-2)

COACHES’ CORNER: “We have to be efficient on offense. When we get the ball, we need to turn it into points. Defensively, we need to be aggressive and take away their base plays and rushing rotation. They run the ball well and have a fresh rotation of backs that can keep plugging away.” – New Haven’s Kyle Booher.
“This is a huge game for us as we control our own destiny to still win the (Northeast 8) conference. You will have to play unbelievably good defense against a couple of the best offensive players in the state. If we can control those guys, not give up too many big plays, and be able to run the ball, we will have a good chance to win the game.” – East Noble’s Luke Amstutz.

COACHES’ CORNER: “Coach McKim and his staff have done an outstanding job again. Defensively. we will have to find a way to slow down an offense that scores 34 points a game. Their quarterback (Marshall Kmiecik) is a three-year starter who is a true dual threat as a runner and passer. Their offensive line is athletic and their defense runs to the ball and are great tacklers. We must find ways to get first downs.” – Penn’s Cory Yeoman.
“To get a victory this week, we must play our best football game so far this season. We must limit big plays on defense while getting explosive and chunk plays on offense. We need to win the turnover battle by taking care of the ball and stealing extra possessions. Offensively, we need to sustain drives, win in the trenches, and execute at a very high-level play in play out. Defensively, we have to stop their running game on early downs and force them into third and long situations. If we play fast and aggressively, we will have a good chance to get a good result on Friday night.” – New Prairie’s Casey McKim.

COACHES’ CORNER: “We must stop or at least slow down their passing game. If we can do that, the next step is to stop (Jayden) Eagle their very quick running back.” – Sheridan’s Larry “Bud” Wright.
“We have to win one-on-one matchups in the passing game and be aggressive up front. Defensively, we have to be gap sound and do our jobs against the option.” Eastern’s (Greentown) Josh Edwards.
SOUTH VERMILLION (6-1) AT SEEGER (6-1)

COACHES’ CORNER: “We need to be very disciplined and play physical to give ourselves a chance to compete. This is two years in a row we have played for a conference championship and last year, Seeger got us 18-14 at home. This should be a hard-fought game on both ends of the field. We need to keep doing the things we have done the last couple of weeks, which is executing offensively and playing great defense.” – South Vermillion’s Greg Barrett.
“South Vermillion is an excellent team. With that said, it is more about us and less about them. We need to play consistent fundamental and physical football for 48 minutes. In doing so, we will give ourselves a great opportunity to win.” – Seeger’s TJ Ragan,
VINCENNES LINCOLN (5-2) AT EVANSVILLE MEMORIAL (6-1)
KICKOFF: 7:30 p.m. EDT, Enlow Field.

TOP PERFORMERS: Blake Green racked up 15 tackles for the Alices against Evansville North. Alex Broshears managed 16 tackles for the No. 8 (Class 4A) Tigers against No. 2 (Class 4A) Evansville Reitz.
COACHES’ CORNER: “Evansville Memorial is a great program and has another great team this year. Offensively, we have to establish some consistency in the run game and pass the ball effectively when we choose to do so. We have to chip away at first downs and moving the chains every drive is critical to our success. We don’t have to score on every drive, but we can’t go three and out consistently and expect to win the game. Defensively, we have got to win the battle upfront. If we can make it hard for them to run the ball, then we are going to give ourselves a chance to win the game. We also need to limit the number of big plays on the ground and in the air. Making Memorial put together long drives and making them work for anything offensively is how we have to play defense Friday. We have nothing but respect for Memorial and look forward to competing against them on Friday night.” – Vincennes Lincoln’s Levi Salters.
“We are excited to have the opportunity to compete this week with Vincennes. To win, we need to play a complete game. On offense, we must improve our execution and avoid mental penalties. Defensively, we need to stop the run and prevent explosive plays. Coach Salters does an excellent job preparing his team, and Vincennes is known for being a physical team.” – Evansville Memorial’s John Hurley.
