COACHES CORNER: “We expect a highly competitive game this week at Park Tudor. In order for us to be successful, we are going to have to execute in all three phases of the game. We need to limit our penalties and play with great discipline. Park Tudor is well-coached and has some very talented skill players, experienced offensive linemen, and great kick returners. We know we have to keep them from making big plays and make sure that we tackle well in space. I believe the turnover battle will be a big factor in this game.” – Centerville’s Ryan Cole.
“Long story shortened; this game is about execution. Neither of us is going to be presenting something that the other is unfamiliar with. Neither of us is going to be short on confidence coming in and neither of us has really had to take a real punch in the first two weeks of the season. Coach Cole is a Butler Bulldog like me, so I know he is going to have his players prepared, enthused, and ready for a dog fight. I think like in most good football games, this one will come down to protecting the ball, protecting the quarterback, and making first-time tackles. Whoever can do that better will win.” – Park Tudor’s Spencer Summerville.

COACHES CORNER: “Crown Point must find a way to overcome Merrillville’s extreme advantage of athleticism and speed. They are one of the most talented teams in the state of Indiana and for us to stay in the game we must minimize our mistakes with flawless execution on offense and stop the big plays on defense. It’s a huge task for our guys. The biggest of the year, by far.” – Crown Point’s Craig Buzea.
“Week three is always a big game for us for two reasons. First, it’s Crown Point. They’ve always been a big rival to our south and the game means a lot to us. Second, it begins the DAC (Duneland Athletic) conference schedule, so you want to get off to a good start in conference play. Crown Point is much improved and have positioned themselves to be a major contender in the conference this season. They are physical and well-coached. We will have to play much better than we have the first two weeks if we want to start 1-0 in conference play.” – Merrillville’s Brad Seiss.
EASTBROOK (2-0) AT OAK HILL (2-0)
KICKOFF: 7 p.m. EDT, Oak Hill.

UP NEXT: Eastbrook hosts Frankton. Oak Hill travels to Mississnewa.
TOP PERFORMERS: Devin Stupples rambled for 190 yards and three touchdowns for the No. 2 (Class 2A) Panthers against New Haven. Kyle Turanchick became the Golden Eagles’ all-time leading rusher with 211 yards and five touchdowns against Southwood.
COACHES CORNER: “Oak Hill is a very solid, disciplined team. Defensively, we will need to slow down their running game. They have three outstanding backs and a large, experienced group of linemen in front of them. They have also been very accurate in their passing game. Offensively, we need a couple of long, extended drives to help keep the ball away from them. Field position will be another big factor as they have a really solid kicking game. This is an important game for both schools. It is our first conference game of the year and a rivalry that goes back over 40 years.” – Eastbrook’s Jeff Adamson.
“We’ve played pretty well the first couple of weeks, but there are some things we have to do better, especially when you’re going up against an elite program. When you play Eastbrook, there is no room for error because they will take advantage of it. It may not happen right away, but they will eventually find it and exploit it. That is why it is a must for us to be locked in on our assignments and take advantage of every opportunity that presents itself.” – Oak Hill’s Bud Ozmun.
HERITAGE CHRISTIAN (2-0) AT GUERIN CATHOLIC (2-0)
KICKOFF: 7 p.m. EDT, Guerin Catholic.

Ryan Zimmerman was 16-of-24 for 313 yards with three touchdowns and ran for another score for the No. 5 (Class 3A) Golden Eagles against No. 10 (Class 2A) Lafayette Central Catholic.
COACHES CORNER: “Guerin is a great team. Well-coached and disciplined. For us to win this game, we have to win the line of the scrimmage and win the turnover margin. We play a lot more two-way players, so we are going to have to dig deep and compete. They are the best team on our schedule, so we are looking forward to the challenge.” – Heritage Christian’s Kyle Ray.
“We are excited for the opportunity to compete against a very good Heritage Christian football team this Friday. Coach Ray and his staff have done a great job with the 2022 Eagles, and they are off to a great start. To compete with them, we will need to be at our best. Containing their explosive offensive attack will be difficult and begins with their quarterback (Kyle Antoine), both in the running game and the passing game. The Eagles also have a number of very good receivers and talented backs. We must limit their big plays and tackle well in space. They have shown tremendous ability to accumulate yards after catching the ball. Offensively, we must be able to control the line of scrimmage and deploy an effective running game as well as continue to take advantage of opportunities in the passing game. As always, ball security will play a major role in this contest. Our kickers and punters must continue to be effective, and we must improve our kickoff coverage to limit their dangerous returners.” – Guerin Catholic’s Tom Dilley.
INDIAN CREEK (2-0) AT OWEN VALLEY (2-0)

PREVIOUS MEETING: Owen Valley, 35-7, on September 3, 2021.

TOP PERFORMERS: Malachi Mink had 13 carries for 62 yards with two touchdowns for the Braves against Greenwood. Christian McDonald raced 25 times for 165 yards with a score for the Patriots against South Putnam.
COACHES CORNER: “We will need to be more physical, win the turnover battle, win the special teams battle, and limit their big plays on offense. They are a fast-paced offense and a defense that does not give up big plays. The energy will be there.” – Indian Creek’s Casey Gillin.
“In order for us to be successful this week, we have to limit the number of mistakes and make the layups. We have to make our routine plays. We have to make open field tackles, play great special teams, take care of the football, and limit mistakes. If we can do those things and control what we can control, we will be able to be competitive.” – Owen Valley’s Rob Gibson.
INDIANAPOLIS BISHOP CHATARD (2-0) AT INDIANAPOLIS RONCALLI (2-0)

COACHES CORNER: “Roncalli is a very talented team with as big as an offensive line as many colleges. They have three (NCAA) D-1 linemen and an all-state wrestler at tailback in Luke Hansen. Their first-string defense has yet to give up a touchdown. We will have to find a way to stop their run game and try to get them into third (down) and long situations. Offensively, we will need to execute to perfection against a very aggressive defense and avoid third (down) and long situations. We need to win the special team’s game.” Indianapolis Bishop Chatard’s Rob Doyle.
“In order for us to be successful on Friday night, we need to play and execute at our standard. If we play as the toughest team on the field and do our job, we win. We need to stop the pass on defense and control the line of scrimmage on offense.” – Indianapolis Roncalli’s Eric Quintana.
INDIANAPOLIS LUTHERAN (2-0) AT TRITON CENTRAL (2-0)

COACHES CORNER: “Triton Central is always well-coached and disciplined. We have to match that with an ability to avoid mistakes and have great mental preparedness and awareness. Triton Central has tremendous team speed in all of the skilled positions, a solid running game, and a fast physical defense. We will have to execute the game plan to have success on both sides of the football.” – Indianapolis Lutheran’s Dave Pasch.
“The Lutheran Saints are a huge challenge for any team in the state and especially for the Triton Central Tigers. With an outstanding program, coach, and team, this will definitely be a measuring stick of how good we could be in the future. They have set the standard in our conference and in Class 1A football. They have a plethora of receivers and a running back second to none in our level of competition. They have a young quarterback who throws quite accurately. We must contain the road so that we know when they are passing offensively. Our offense must be able to mix run and pass to keep them off balance. Special teams are always key to close game success and if we have a chance to win at the end, it will definitely be a key factor.” – Triton Central’s Tim Able.
NORTH DECATUR (2-0) AT MONROE CENTRAL (2-0)

COACHES CORNER: “As in any big game, the little things tend to make the difference. Turnovers and take aways will be magnified in a game like this. Offensively, we need to stay ahead of the chains using a good mix of run and pass. This will get us out of the ‘have to pass’ situations. Defensively, it will be important to get off the field and not all sustained drives. Their quarterback (Luke Jones) is as good as we will see all year.” – North Decatur’s Steve Stirn.
“This is a big game. North Decatur is very good. We will be challenged to limit our mistakes and take advantage of big moments. Their skill guys and coaching are a as good as you find in Class 1A football for sure.” – Monroe Central’s John Hochstetler.
NORTH POSEY (2-0) AT SOUTHRIDGE (2-0)
KICKOFF: 7:30 p.m. EDT, Raider Field.
COACHES: Waylon Schenk, 33-21 in sixth season at North Posey, 61-45 in 11th season overall. Scott Buening, 87-28 in 10th season at Southridge, 99-56 in 14th season overall.
LAST CONTEST: North Posey beat Princeton, 53-14. Southridge beat Boonville, 13-0.
PREVIOUS MEETING: North Posey, 40-28, on September 3, 2021.
UP NEXT: North Posey plays at Tell City. Southridge travels to Pike Central.
TOP PERFORMERS: Liam Stone went 10-of-13 for 156 yards with three touchdowns and ran 12 times for 80 yards with another score for the Vikings against Princeton. Reid Schroeder rambled 20 times for 109 yards with a score for the Raiders against Boonville.
COACHES CORNER: “For us to win on the road at Southridge, we are going to have to execute at a high level on both sides of the ball. We have scored a lot of points through the first two games but have relied more on talent than focusing on the details. When talent meets talent, talent no longer matters. It comes down to discipline, execution, and ball security. I think there will be two evenly matched teams at Southridge on Friday night. The team that makes the fewest mistakes will be the team that wins the game. Special teams could be the difference and both teams have struggled in that area through two weeks.” – North Posey’s Waylon Schenk.
“North Posey has been known for their offensive production and big play abilities over the years and this year is no exception. They are led by their quarterback and running back combination of Levi Stone and Jed Galvin who both are dual threats both in the passing game and running game. They have a good core of receivers that surround them and an offensive line that has good size and strength. Defensively, they haven’t given up many points with their first group and play a very aggressive style of defense. For us to be successful, we have to be able to limit their explosive plays which we were unable to do last year and figure out a way to score some points and generate some big plays of our own which we haven’t been able to do to this point of the season.” – Southridge’s Scott Buening.
ZIONSVILLE (2-0) AT WESTFIELD (1-1)
KICKOFF: 7 p.m. EDT, Riverview Health Stadium.
COACHES: Scott Turnquist, 23-19 in fourth season at Zionsville. Jake Gilbert, 85-49 in 12th season at Westfield, 115-85 in 18th season overall.
LAST CONTEST: Zionsville beat Lebanon, 42-6. Westfield beat Lawrence Central, 42-27.
PREVIOUS MEETING: Westfield, 42-21, on September 3, 2021.
UP NEXT: Zionsville entertains Franklin Central. Westfield travels to Noblesville.
TOP PERFORMERS: Eugene Hilton hauled in a 50-yard touchdown pass for the Eagles against Lebanon. Maximus Nosler registered three catches for 107 yards with two scores for the No. 7 (Class 6A) Shamrocks against Lawrence Central.
COACHES CORNER: “Westfield is a great program that does everything at a very high level. They are well-coached, play hard and physical, and know how to win. The biggest thing we need to do to be successful is to make sure that we control how we execute our game plan and play our style of football. We need to be able to play well at the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball, protect the football on offense, take the ball away and be great on third downs on defense, and create explosive plays while limiting theirs. It will certainly be a tall task, but it’s one we’re excited about going after.” – Zionsville’s Scott Turnquist.
“We have to tackle better because we’ve missed so many tackles the first two games. That’s prevented us from getting off the field defensively. We’ve also made too many mistakes. Lots of penalties and turnovers. We are getting better as we gain experience, but we’ll have to get a lot of that cleaned up to beat Zionsville.” – Westfield’s Jake Gilbert.
