Taylor Remains Unbeaten on Road with Sweep of Saint Francis

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Taylor had little trouble picking up its sixth win in as many road matches this season with a quick three-set victory at Saint Francis on Friday. The Trojans cruised to their sixth-straight win overall via a 25-19, 25-20, 25-14 triumph.

TU used an 11-3 stretch early into the night to take control and opened a 12-7 lead in the first set. Taylor never looked back from there, using a kill from Amanda Adams to close the 25-19 victory.

The Trojans appeared on their way to a comfortable win in the second as well, but USF’s (4-16, 2-7 CL) lone charge of the match pushed the Cougars to a 15-14 edge. Taylor immediately reclaimed the lead on kills from Sarah Scott and Ryan Czerniak and pulled away for a 25-20 win.

Taylor took the drama out of the third set quickly, bolting to a 13-2 lead and easily finishing off the sweep with a 25-14 outcome.

TU closed the first half of its league slate at 8-1 and in sole possession of second place in the standings. The Trojans trail No. 8 Marian by a single match, while holding a two-win edge over three teams currently tied for third.

RV Taylor (18-2, 8-1 CL) will open the second half of league play on Saturday, with a 3:00 pm tilt against Grace (2-6, 7-9 CL) inside Odle Arena
