Taylor Pushes Record to 11-1 with Saturday Sweep

CLEVELAND, Ga. – Taylor finished off its stay at the Truett-McConnell Tournament with an unblemished 4-0 record, scoring a four-set win over Keiser and a sweep of the hosts on Saturday to improve to 11-1 on the young season.

The Trojans dropped the first set against Keiser in an early-morning tilt, but bounced back to secure the 19-25, 25-20, 25-23, 25-13 victory.

Amanda Adams shredded the Keiser (5-13) defense with 20 kills and only two errors in 41 swings, with Sarah Scott and Grace Isaacs adding nine kills each. The trio combined for 38 kills and just seven miscues in the match.

Kacy Bragg kept the hitters busy, tossing up 40 assists to go with 12 digs and a trio of blocks, while Stephaney Fifield finished with 31 digs and three aces. Along with her nine kills, Isaacs added four solo blocks and four assisted blocks.

TU kept rolling in its afternoon match against Truett-McConnell (2-5), easing past the host squad by a 25-23, 25-15, 25-16 margin.

Taylor hit .333 as a team in the contest, overpowering its opponent with a 47-to-21 advantage in the kills column. Isaacs and Ryan Czerniak did the majority of that damage, teaming for 24 kills and just one error in 39 tries, while Adams added 11 terminations.

Bragg and Fifield continued their tremendous seasons, as Bragg added 40 assists and Fifield ended with 23 digs and two aces. Nikki Parrett also chipped in with 10 digs.

Taylor (11-1, 1-0 CL) will now dive back into Crossroads League play, when it takes its 10-match win streak to Huntington (5-3, 1-0 CL) for a 7:00 pm start on Wednesday, September 8.
