Season-Opening Surge Continues for TU with Two More Wins

CLEVELAND, Ga. – The Taylor volleyball team continued its fast start to the 2021 campaign with a pair of victories on the first day of the Truett-McConnell Tournament on Friday.

With the wins over Fisk and Brenau, the Trojans improved to 9-1 and pushed their win streak to eight-straight matches. The 9-1 start is TU’s best since opening the 2010 season with an 18-1 clip and the current eight-game streak is Taylor’s longest string of triumphs since rattling off nine in a row in 2011 and 14-straight to start the aforementioned 2010 season.

Stephaney Fifield turned in another fantastic performance from the libero position with a season-high 34 digs and two aces, with Nikki Parrett adding 12 digs.

It was more Czerniak in a 25-14, 25-14, 25-18 sweep of Brenau, as the senior slammed 15 of TU’s 31 kills in the three-set win. Czerniak struck for her 15 kills in just 23 swings and was off-target just twice.
