SAINT XAVIER 38, #13 SAINT FRANCIS (IND.) 0
A defensive unit that kept Saint Francis (Ind.) off the scoreboard and collected six sacks along the way led Saint Xavier to their second straight victory on Saturday, 38-0 in the battle of Cougars.
Jaleel Holloway finished with three tackles, including a pair of sacks in the win, while linebacker Joey Markasovic led Saint Xavier (2-1) with 12 stops and a sack. Both teams were held scoreless through the first quarter, but the first of two Stuart Ross TDs put SXU on the board, on the first play of the second quarter, from 31 yards out.
Ross would punch another TD in from the one-yard line, and Jacob Denney’s pick-six gave Saint Xavier a 21-0 lead by the end of the first half.
Amari Venerable collected 139 yards and a TD on 3 carries, while Brandt Hixson led the SXU receivers with 91 yards and a TD on four receptions.
Heath Simmons completed 26 of 41 passes for Saint Francis (1-1), totaling 205 yards. Defensively, River Walsh collected a game-high 14 tackles.

#8 MARIAN 49, MISSOURI BAPTIST 0
No. 8 Marian was in control from start to finish, taking a dominant 49-0 victory over Missouri Baptist.
The Knights (3-1) out-gained Missouri Baptist (1-3) by a 542-193 margin in the win, with Baron Hueber opening the scoring with his 26-yard TD run late in the first quarter. Marian stretched their lead to 22-0 by the halftime break with a pair of TD passes from Zach Bundalo.
Bundalo finished with four TDs on the day, completing 12 of 22 passes for 277 yards. Johnny William brought in three TDs on just four receptions, for a total of 141 yards, and Daylen Taylor rushed 21 times for 138 yards and a TD. Defensively, Tyler Majors made a team-high six tackles, and Chaunsey Mays had two and a half sacks in the win. Jaylen Cowley led Missouri Baptist with 12 tackles, while Kohl Williams made nine stops and three tackles for loss.
Taylor would keep things close in the first half with a touchdown late in the second quarter, but No. 17 Olivet Nazarene shut out the Trojans the rest of the way, earning a 34-7 home victory.
The Tigers (2-1) opened the game with a 23-yard TD pass from David Hutton to Brian Jenkins, following a fumble recovery on Taylor’s (1-2) opening drive. An 18-yard Bryce DeGuira field goal stretched the ONU advantage to 10-0, but late in the second quarter the Trojans found the end zone, driving 64 yards resulting in a TD run from Dylan Scally from the one-yard line.
The Olivet defense kept the Trojans at bay in the second half, forcing one turnover on downs and grabbing two interceptions. Three rushing TDs from three different players would allow ONU to pull away for the win.
Hutton finished with 168 yards and one TD for the Tigers, while Cameron Crouch led the ONU rushers with 80 yards and a touchdown on six carries. Zac Saltzgaber tallied 120 passing yards for Taylor. On the other side of the ball, ONU’s Jason Freeman made a game-high 22 tackles with a tackle for loss. Aven Jones tallied 17 tackles for the Taylor defense.

SIENA HEIGHTS 13, ST. FRANCIS (ILL.) 8
Turnovers were the difference in a defensive battle on Saturday, as Siena Heights held a five-point halftime lead throughout the rest of the way to defeat St. Francis (Ill.), 13-8.
St. Francis (0-2) suffered two interceptions, two turnovers on downs, and a fumble, all in the second half while looking to reclaim the lead. In the first half, Anthony Secchi’s 29-yard field goal put Siena Heights up late in the first quarter, but a 24-yard TD pass from Sam Tumilty to Ravon Johnson gave St. Francis the 8-3 advantage.
Siena Heights (1-2) quickly responded as Ryan Minor connected with Eric Williams II for a 56-yard TD pass on the following drive, and another field goal later in the second quarter closed out the scoring.
Minor finished with 128 yards passing, completing 14 of 22 passes. Williams collected 83 receiving yards on five catches in the win. Linebacker Kole Murlin finished with a game-high 14 tackles, with a sack and two tackles for loss.
Tumilty was the offensive leader for St. Francis, rushing for 131 yards on 26 carries while throwing for 85 yards and a TD. Terrance Nicholson and Ryan King each had nine tackles for USF.

JUDSON 41, MADONNA 14
A seven-takeaway performance from the Judson defense, along with more than 500 yards of total offense resulted in a total team victory for the Eagles, 41-14 over Madonna, their first in program history.
Four different players for the Eagles (1-3) recovered fumbles, and Jacob Slonski grabbed two picks in the win. On the other side of the ball Christian Mille threw for 267 yards and three TDs, completing 21 of 31 passes for Judson.
The Eagles opened a 21-0 lead in the first half, before Josh DePaulis’ 13-yard TD pass to Shannon Allen put Madonna (1-4) on the board just before the break. Mille put the game out of reach in the third quarter, throwing all three of his touchdowns within a nine-minute span, giving Judson a 41-7 lead entering the fourth quarter.
DePaulis finished with 210 yards on 19-of-32 passing, while D’Vonta Garrett led the receiving corps with 92 yards on five catches. Mike Gaiera made a game-high 16 tackles with one sack and two tackles for loss for the Crusaders.

TRINITY INTERNATIONAL 26, GREENVILLE (ILL.) 21
Trailing by a point and pinned on their own one-yard line late in the fourth quarter, Nolan Brammer led Trinity International 99 yards for the game-winning drive, as the Trojans defeated Greenville (Ill.), 26-21.
The Trojans (2-2) took a 13-7 lead following the second TD pass of the quarter from Derrick Taylor to Deon Cook, but Greenville (2-2) bounced back with a touchdown in the closing seconds of the first half to reclaim a 14-13 lead.
Both teams traded the lead in the third quarter, first with a TD pass from Taylor to Khalid Humphrey for the Trojans, then a 28-yard TD run for the Panthers, to put the visitors ahead 21-20. With 2:57 left on the clock, Greenville downed a punt at the TIU one-yard line. The Trojans would take six plays to cross midfield before a 48-yard strike from Brammer to Marc Wallace put TIU in front. An interception by Corey Watkins clinched the win in the closing seconds.
Taylor finished with 290 passing yards and three TDs, completing 19 of 32 passes before Brammer took over for the final drive. Cook led the Trojan receivers with five catches and 168 yards, while Marc Wallace went 113 yards on five catches. Defensively, Kemon Reese had a game-high 11 tackles for Trinity.
