WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — The No. 8-ranked Purdue Boilermakers aim to end the regular season on a high note and build momentum for the postseason when it looks to avenge an earlier loss to Indiana. The Boilermakers have locked up a top-3 seed in the Big Ten Tournament and will play Friday night regardless of Saturday’s outcome, but a win over Indiana will cap off a strong regular season with their 25th win of the year.

Purdue enters with a 24-6 mark, while the Hoosiers are 18-11. Indiana is 6-11 in quad-1 and quad-2 games.

The contest will be televised on ESPN with Jason Benetti and Robbie Hummel on the call. On the radio waves, Rob Blackman and Bobby Riddell will be courtside on the 22-station Purdue Radio Network and online on the Varsity Sports Network (app). Live stats will be provided on PurdueStats.com and updates will be provided on Purdue’s official Twitter account (@BoilerBall).

THE NOTES TO KNOW
1) Purdue needs one win for 25 this season, which would mark the 15th season in school history with 25 wins, including nine under Painter.
2) Matt Painter will coach his 600th career game (570 at Purdue; 30 at Southern Illinois). He ranks fifth on the Big Ten’s all-time games coached list (569) behind Tom Izzo (927), Bob Knight (901), Gene Keady (782) and Lou Henson (647).
3) Purdue has clinched a Big Ten Tournment double-bye for the seventh time in seven tournaments under the current format. Purdue hasn’t played on a Thursday in the Big Ten Tournament since the 2014 season.
4) Purdue is one of eight teams without a quad-2, 3 or 4 loss (San Diego State, Gonzaga, Kentucky, Texas Tech, Auburn, Tennessee, Saint Mary’s).
5) Purdue is on pace to lead the Big Ten in field goal percentage (conf. games only) for the first time during the Matt Painter era.
6) Purdue is 23-0 in games it scores 70 or more points. In games held under 70 points, Purdue is 1-6.
7) Purdue has won at least 12 league games for the seventh time in the last eight years. During that span, just three other programs have done it at least five times (Wisconsin – 6; Maryland, Michigan State – 5).
8) A win would give Purdue 16 wins this season at Mackey Arena, tied for the second most in facility history (17 in 2015-16 season is record). The Boilermakers are 26-2 at home over the last two seasons.
9) Purdue has owned the Big Ten’s best home record in 2017 (8-1), 2018 (8-1), 2019 (10-0), 2021 (8-1) and will again in 2022 (8-1).
10) Purdue’s 80 Big Ten wins since the 2016-17 season are the third-most conference wins for a power-conference team during that span.
