No. 12 WOMEN’S BASKETBALL KNOCKS OFF NO. 4 KNIGHTS, CLAIMS CROSSROADS LEAGUE TOURNAMENT TITLE
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – No. 12 Indiana Wesleyan women’s basketball knocked off No. 4 Marian University 66-63 in the Crossroads League Tournament Championship for the second year in a row.

WHAT HAPPENED

Wildcats scored the first two baskets of the game off of a layup by Maddie Lawrence and a three-point from Kelli Damman.
At halftime, Wildcats had shot 66.7% from the arc and 52% from the floor to Marian’s 33.3% from range and 48.3% from the floor. Wildcats led 34-33 heading into the locker room.
Wildcats started the third quarter with a 6-0 run before Knights responded with 21-4 run to finish the quarter.
Tale of two quarters as the Wildcats battled to a 22-9 advantage in the fourth quarter. Wildcats trailed since the 5:31 minute mark in the third quarter before taking the lead with 54 seconds remaining in the contest off a Lilli Frasure layup. Frasure connected again on two free throws with 10 seconds to go and Kelli Damman went 3-4 from the line in the final five seconds of the game for Wildcats to knock off No. 4 Marian 66-63.
