Gophers’ Samedy, Buckeyes’ Podraza and Boilermakers’ Bush and Colvin recognized for last week’s performances
Player of the Week
Stephanie Samedy, Minnesota
Grad. – OPP – Clermont, Fla. – East Ridge – Major: Human Resources
• Registered 4.75 kills and 3.88 digs per set with two double-doubles and a .315 hitting percentage to pace the No. 11 Golden Gophers to conference wins over sixth-ranked Nebraska and Indiana
• Posted 20 kills and a career high-tying 26 digs in Oct. 30 five-set victory over Nebraska, recording her second 20/20 match of the season (both in the past three matches)
• Added 18 kills, 15 digs and a .441 hitting percentage in Minnesota’s Oct. 27 win over Indiana
• Chosen as Academic All-Big Ten honoree last year in addition to receiving the Senior CLASS Award
• Earns her 11th career Player of the Week honor (tying Wisconsin’s Dana Rettke for third-most in Big Ten history) and third this season, along with one Defensive Player of the Week citation

• Averaged 2.57 blocks and 2.14 kills per set with a .393 hitting percentage last week to help No. 12 Purdue defeat No. 3 Wisconsin and Northwestern
• Piled up 11 blocks (tied for second-most in conference play this year) in Sunday’s win over Wisconsin, including a career-high 10 block assists while adding seven kills
• Contributed seven blocks, eight kills and a .583 hitting percentage in Oct. 27 victory over Northwestern
• Receives the first Defensive Player of the Week award of her career

• Tallied her seventh double-double of the season Sunday with 42 assists and 15 digs against MSU
• Selected for Academic All-Big Ten Team honors last year
• Secures her sixth career Setter of the Week selection, and second this season
