Wolverines’ Beniers named first star after recording four points in weekend sweep of Penn State

• Paced the Wolverines with a four-point weekend in a sweep of Penn State
• Scored a power-play goal at the 18:25 mark of the first period to give Michigan a 2-0 lead, before setting up the next power-play goal to help the Wolverines score twice within 52 seconds on Jan. 14
• Found the back of the net late in the second period on Jan. 15 and then set up the tying goal in the third
• Earns his fifth career weekly award and his third of the season

• Recorded a hat trick and four points against Notre Dame as the Buckeyes won 4-1 on Jan. 15 to move into second in the Big Ten
• Opened the scoring with a power-play goal at the 3:18 mark of the first period, before breaking a 1-1 tie with 40 seconds left in the second
• Registered the primary assist on Georgii Merkulov’s goal that gave Ohio State a two-goal cushion at 4:11 into the third and pushed the advantage to 4-1 when he completed his hat trick at 16:21
• The two-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree earns his first career weekly honor

• Scored the game-winner on a power play in the third period Saturday to break a 2-2 tie and give the Badgers the comeback victory
• Receives his first career weekly award
