Ivey Named Midseason All-American by The Sporting News
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Purdue sophomore Jaden Ivey has been named a third-team Midseason All-American by the Sporting News the organization announced Thursday.
Ivey is one of six Big Ten players named to the 15-member, three-team squad.
The 6-foot, 4-inch sophomore from South Bend, Indiana, leads the No. 4 Boilermakers in scoring at 16.7 points per game while contributing 5.0 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game. He is shooting 48.5 percent from the field, 42.4 percent (36-of-85) from long distance and 74.7 percent from the free throw line, while also contributing 22 steals and nine blocked shots.
Ivey has scored in double-figures in 15 straight games and has five 20-point efforts during the season. He is just one of four players nationally to have scored 300 points with 90 rebounds and 50 assists and shoot over 42.0 percent from long distance.
Ivey and the Boilermakers will face Northwestern on Sunday in Mackey Arena, beginning at 1 p.m. ET.
