CHICAGO, Ill. – For the second time this season and following a dominant three-match run last week, senior setter McKenzie Powell was named the CCAC Setter of the Week on Tuesday.
Leading IU South Bend to three victories over the past seven days, Powell averaged 11.3 assists per set as the Titans took straight-set wins over Trinity International and Trinity Christian before holding on for a five-set victory at St. Francis. Powell recorded two double-doubles on the week, with 34 assists and 12 digs against TIU on Tuesday, followed by her 54 assist-16 dig performance in five sets with the Saints.

On the year, Powell is averaging 10.8 assists per set, and ranks 11th nationally among NAIA setters. The Rolling Prairie, Ind. native is second in the CCAC, by a margin of just 0.01 assists per set to the league leader.

The Titans have kicked off conference play with an 8-0 record, their best start in the CCAC in program history. IU South Bend will look to make it nine in a row when they host IU Northwest from the Student Activities Center on Tuesday, October 5. First serve with the Redhawks is set for 7:00 p.m. ET.
