Indiana Wesleyan’s Xander Stokes and Ben VonGunten are recognized after the Wildcats’ dominant win over No. 6 Marian, while Hunter Maynard is selected for the second week in a row as the MSFA Mideast League Players of the Week are announced.

Offensive Player of the Week
Xander Stokes, Indiana Wesleyan
Jr., QB, Anderson, Ind. (Anderson HS)

  • Threw for 259 yards and two TDs as the Wildcats took a 41-7 win over No. 6 Marian
  • Two first-half TDs helped IWU build a 31-0 lead at the half
  • Earns his first MSFA Offensive Player of the Week award this season, and the second of his career

Defensive Player of the Week
Hunter Maynard, Concordia
Sr., LB, Plain City, Ohio (Limestone [S.C.])

  • Finished with 14 tackles as Concordia defeated Siena Heights, 20-10
  • Recorded three sacks and four and a half takles for loss in the win
  • Earns his second consecutive MSFA Defensive Player of the Week award

Special Teams Player of the Week
Ben VonGunten, Indiana Wesleyan
Sr., K/P, Spencerville, Ind. (Leo HS)

  • Converted both field goal attempts and went 5-for-5 on extra points in the Wildcats’ win over No. 6 Marian
  • Had three punts averaging 41.7 yards, with a long of 52 yards
  • Earns his first MSFA Special Teams Player of the Week award this season, and
