Indiana, Minnesota, Ohio State, Rutgers and Wisconsin Collect Big Ten Weekly Women’s Soccer Honors
Hoosiers’ Jordyn Levy, Gophers’ Megan Plaschko, Buckeyes’ Kayla Fischer, Scarlet Knights’ Gabby Provenzano and Badgers’ Jordyn Bloomer selected for this week’s conference awards
Offensive Player of the Week
Kayla Fischer, Ohio State
Sr. – F – Kent, Ohio – Theodore Roosevelt – Major: Biology
• Registered six points (two goals and two assists) last week in leading the Buckeyes to a pair of victories, including a win over No. 18 UCF on Sept. 2
• Posted her second five-point outing of the season with two goals and an assist in the victory over UCF, netting the opening goal in the third minute and the clinching score in the 87th minute
• Also credited with primary assist on OSU’s opening goal in second minute of Sunday’s victory over Navy
• Twice named an Academic All-Big Ten selection (2019, 2020)
• Earns her second career Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week award
• Last Ohio State Offensive Player of the Week: Emma Sears (March 2, 2021)
Defensive Player of the Week
Gabby Provenzano, Rutgers
Sr. – D – Sergeantsville, N.J. – Hunterdon Central Regional – Major: Sport Management
• Captained the RU backline to shutout wins over Monmouth and La Salle last week, holding the two opponents to a combined six total shots and three shots on goal
• Added her first goal of the season (fourth of her career) with four seconds left in the first half of the Sept. 3 win over Monmouth
• A three-time Big Ten Distinguished Scholar and Academic All-Big Ten honoree (2018, 2019, 2020)
• Secures her third career Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week award
• Last Rutgers Defensive Player of the Week: Allison Lynch (March 22, 2021)
Co-Goalkeeper of the Week
Megan Plaschko, Minnesota
Jr. – Eagan, Minn. – Eagan – Major: Communication Studies
• Posted a solo shutout and contributed to a shared clean sheet as the Golden Gophers blanked Mississippi State (draw) and Wyoming (win) last week and remain one of five teams in the nation that have not allowed a goal this season
• Made career-high nine saves in the Sept. 2 double-overtime draw with Mississippi State, tying for the most stops by a Big Ten netminder this year
• Has not allowed a goal all season (464:44 of action), helping Minnesota become the second program in conference history to open a season with five consecutive shutouts (Rutgers did so in both 2015 and 2017)
• Selected for Academic All-Big Ten and CoSIDA Academic All-District honors last season
• Earns her second career Big Ten Goalkeeper of the Week award

Jordyn Bloomer, Wisconsin
Grad. – Hartland, Wis. – Arrowhead – Graduate Program: Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis
• Went the distance to earn shutouts in double-overtime draws with Loyola-Chicago and Baylor last week
• Made a combined six saves in the two matches, including four against Baylor, highlighted by a diving fingertip save late in the first overtime
• Now has 30 career shutouts, the third goalkeeper in school history to reach that milestone
• Captures her fourth career Big Ten Goalkeeper of the Week plaudit, tying for the most career weekly goalkeeping honors in conference history (Goalkeeper of the Week award first presented in 2018)
• Last Wisconsin Goalkeeper of the Week: Jordyn Bloomer (March 30, 2021)
Freshman of the Week
Jordyn Levy, Indiana
F – Dix Hills, N.Y. – Hollow Hills – Major: Business
• Scored twice last week, netting goals in Indiana’s wins over Western Michigan (2-1) and Southeast Missouri State (6-0)
• Tallied the winning goal in the 61st minute against WMU and added a score in the 11th minute against SEMO, the latter contributing to the Hoosiers’ highest scoring output since Sept. 6, 1998 (nine vs. Temple)
• Collects her first career Freshman of the Week accolade
