Indiana and Michigan State Earn Big Ten Weekly Women’s Basketball Awards

Hoosiers’ Holmes and Spartans’ Hagemann are first weekly honorees of 2021-22 women’s basketball season

Player of the Week

Mackenzie Holmes, Indiana

Jr. – F – Gorham, Maine – Gorham – Major: Human Development & Family Studies

• Averaged 20.0 points, 7.5 rebounds and 2.0 steals per game with a .640 field-goal percentage last week in pacing the Hoosiers to wins over Butler and No. 13 Kentucky

• Poured in a career-high 29 points on 11-of-15 shooting and added seven rebounds and two steals in Sunday’s nationally-televised top-15 win over UK

• Opened the season with 11 points and eight rebounds in the Nov. 9 victory at Butler

• Earns her second career Big Ten Player of the Week award

Big Ten Women’s Basketball Weekly Honor Roll

Caitlin Clark, So., G, IOWA: Registered 23.3 points, 7.7 rebounds and 5.7 assists per game in Iowa’s three wins last week, including a double-double in Sunday’s victory at Northern Iowa

Angel Reese, So., F, MD: Posted 18.7 points and 11.0 rebounds per game with two double-doubles last week as Maryland opened with three convincing wins

Naz Hillmon, Sr., F, MICH: Recorded 24.5 points and 10.0 rebounds per game with a .656 field-goal percentage last week, including 30 points and 15 rebounds in a Nov. 9 win over IUPUI

Freshman of the Week

DeeDee Hagemann, Michigan State

G – Detroit, Mich. – Detroit Edison Public School Academy – Major: Advertisement Management

• Averaged 10.5 points, 6.0 assists and 4.5 rebounds and 2.5 steals per game last week to help the Spartans tip off their season with wins over Morehead State and Niagara

• Tallied 10 points, five rebounds and five assists in her college debut on Nov 9 against Morehead State

• Added 11 points, a game-high seven assists, four rebounds and three steals in Sunday’s victory over Niagara

• Collects her first Big Ten Freshman of the Week award
